Melee priority

Just got a situation where me and an enemies were low-health, and we both proceed to make a charged melee attack in a close interval.

However, while I was first the charge the melee attack, the game gave him priority and ended up make him win the duel.
My ping was 30 ms (as it can be seen on the clip) and I was about 200ms early to charge the melee (7 frame of the clip, with 30/frame per second give me 233ms).

So even taking 4 time my actual ping (120ms) I should still be early by 80~100ms to the server, so I believe the melee check order is not based on how early the melee was done, but likely an arbritary order (like entity ID) and is definetly unfair.

I get what you're saying but even though you can see yourself as the faster trigger, there is a delay due to networking and technically he was the first to fistbump you but your game client got that information too late. This is the case in many many online games and especially in this and similar genres.
