I have over 400 matches in McGinnis and mainly run turrets. No one thinks turrets are broken, in fact, generally they are seen as not so effective. I have a few suggestions to buff them with existing upgrades.
The AP2 upgrade for turrets has a 10% fire rate boost and range increase. The fire rate increase practically does nothing, it is barely noticeable and has no notible impact to the dps. If it was scrapped tomorrow no one would notice. It needs an increase of either 15% or 20%. This would be the easiest change.
My preferred changes. Get rid of the fire rate boost at AP2 and replace it with the duration buff from AP5, AND in its place, add +1 charge to AP5. If someone wants to invest into turrets, it'd be more worth it. This would make McGinnis more competitive as a support, she is practically nonexistent in higher ranks, if she is, it is gun builds.
There are already hard counters to turrets, Ricochet, Seven, Ivy, Geist, Infernus, Mina, etc. These changes would not change the ways to counter turrets, it would make them more competitive. Bring McGinnis to a similar level to other heroes without any game breaking changes. Thank you for your time.
