Magic carpet unintended interaction with external damage sources?

When using magic carpet on rem it will get cancelled when a helper that I gave to a minion shoots something. It makes magic carpet unusable if you intend on using helpers to push a wave as they last a very long time. Similar interaction with McGinnis turrets. Seems like an exception should be made for these items.
