Infiltrator would be a T3 Weapon Item that upgrades from Backstabber. This item expands upon the ambush capabilities of Backstabber with better scaling and a brief silencing effect to help exploit your ambush, but also adds on the ability to shrink and use tunnels to slip deep into enemy territory and outmaneuver the opponent to get an ambush off.

Stats: -100% Footstep Sound Distance, +100 Bonus Health, +2 m/s Sprint Speed

Passive: While out of combat, your model size is reduced by 50%, allowing you to access Tunnels. Entering combat returns your model size to normal.

Passive (8 second cooldown): Attacking enemy heroes from behind with your weapon or melee Silences them for 1 second and opens a wound for 8 seconds that deals 25 spirit damage per second and reduces bullet resist by 8%. You and allies within 25 meters of the target see them through walls and gain 1.5 m/s bonus move speed.
 
I really like this concept but reducing model size outside of combat leads to a lot of inconsistent movement (corner boosts, mantles, steep slopes etc) that REM already struggles with, maybe it could be an active that makes you small? or just allow you to interact with a tunnel to shrink down

I was imagining the smaller model size also helping with stealth and evading enemies, but simply making you shrink down when next to or inside of vents could also work.
 
I agree with it being an active, as it would give it bonus combat capabilities by letting you pop it in a teamfight to make yourself harder to hit by gunfire. Making it an active would also add a kind of balance by making it less appealing for heroes who would like a lot of active items.
 
I think it could give the characters a crawl animation that plays when you hold ctrl for 0.5 seconds or a new out-of-combat slide animation where they are more flush to the ground

because half of the cast could theoretically fit inside the vents if they crawled anyway
 
instead let the backstabber upgrade to shadow weave. while shadow weave is active you can enter a shadow form (pressing ctrl for 1s near vent) that allows you to go in the tunnels
