A Shiv Rework Thread

Incoming wall of text. Numbers are theoretical and based on existing / old iterations of abilities.

Context:
I've had this idea in my head for awhile of some changes that could make Shiv even more skill expressive and adaptive. I feel like as a monster hunter, Shiv should have the option to pick and choose Gun, Spirit, Hybrid, Melee, etc. to match the lobby. Jack-of-all Trades, but master of none. Character design is peak & I look forward to the lore dumps. Anyway. . .

TL;DR: Rage rework, Bloodletting moved to Ult, Alt-castable abilities to consume rage, Execute reworked!

General changes:



M2 Knockback reduced

M2 alt-fire now uses 2 bullets



(1)Serrated Knives:

10 impact damage – 8 DPS on a 5 second duration

Impact damage now counts as weapon damage and scales with weapon damage



AP 1 – Duration +1 and +1 Charge

AP 2 – +20 impact damage and +6 bleed damage. +1 Charge

AP5 – Knives become map objects that can be retrieved to replenish charges. Improve Scaling. +1 Charge

(Knives cannot be retrieved from living enemies. Knives disappear from the map when their corresponding CD is replenished. Shiv needs to be within 2m to automatically replenish a knife charge)



(2)Slice and Dice:

Can now dash forward into the air without already being airborn (similar to Calico’s leaping slash)

Impact Damage increased to 80 Damage

Damage is now calculated as being split 50/50 on weapon / spirit with equality in scaling

Dash Range reduced to 10m

Removed Spirit Resist Shred



AP 1 - -6 Cooldown

AP 2 - +40 Impact Damage

AP 5 - -2 Cooldown per Hero hit. Activates on-hit, non headshot, non-melee weapon damage effects (Point Blank, Slowing Bullets, etc.)



Bloodletting removed – replaced with “Let’s Dance”



(3)Let’s Dance:

Lunge forward with your blade and gash an enemy, dealing light melee damage and reducing resistances.

**Can dash forward into the air without being airborn

33 base added spirit damage. 40 second CD. -5% Weapon and Spirit Resist.

AP 1 – Reduce CD by 10 seconds

AP 2 – -5% more Weapon and Spirit Resist loss. Deal Heavy melee damage to enemies affected by 2 serrated knives or recently impacted by Slice and Dice.

AP5 – Ability becomes charged with an 8 second cooldown between charge uses.



(4) Rage:

Shiv builds rage when dealing AND receiving damage from enemy heroes. Shiv can altcast his abilities to spend a portion of accumulated rage for bonus effects. Shiv gains bonuses based on accumulated rage.

NB: Altcast abilities do NOT provide Rage on impact (bleed damage from Serrated Knives counts for rage since they are not impact damage ;) )

Passive: Shiv converts 25% of incoming damage into rage. This damage is deferred for 6 seconds and can be cleared at the cost of accumulated rage.

Active: Spend 50% of enemy-damage accumulated rage to clear 33% of deferred damage

Alt Cast effects:
(1) Serrated Knives: Spend 10% of accumulated rage to throw a bouncing dagger

(2) Slice and Dice: Spend 25% of accumulated rage to dash twice

(3) Let’s Dance: Spend 60% of accumulated rage to execute an enemy below 13% HP.

(4) Rage: Spend 30% of total accumulated rage to clear 75% of deferred damage.



Rage accumulation values are consistent for Shiv for damage dealt and received (at 25% value).

Max rage provides 10% damage Amp on default.



AP 1 – Gain a 3 m/s move and sprint speed bonus that scales with rage

AP 2 - +7% maximum damage Amp on Full Rage.

AP 5 – Ability alt-casts are now active by default and no longer consume rage. (Thresholds still need to be met for effects to activate)
