I'm an experienced player. I've been playing the game actively since it was released. All three of my Steam users have been PHANTOM level, but none of them are anymore - because the unbearably bad matchmaking system keeps putting me on a team with players who are playing for the first time or their first games.
It's completely unfair that a player with over 1000 hours in the game is put on the same team with new players and thus forced to lose games. This happens all the time. My teammates haven't been at the same skill level in any of the last 10 games, mostly first-timers. I don't mean the rank in the game, but what the player actually plays, such as objective score, kills, damage dealt, healing to others, souls per min, etc.
I don't understand why this statistic and game time combined aren't used as the basis for matchmaking? That way we would get players with experience in the same game with players of the same skill level. The current matchmaking system makes no sense and forces higher-level players to lose, no matter how well they play and carry their team.
The ranking system itself is completely irrelevant at this point. I was Phantom on my main, and now it's Arcanist. Entirely because the matchmaking system forces you to lose matches by putting first-timers on teams who have no idea how to play the game.
The game is no longer enjoyable to play - At least not until this matchmaking problem is fixed. It's unbearably bad.
