For reference, this is the conversation line in question: Link
This is the current version that was eventually added to replace the original: Link
When Holliday's line to Lash was originally removed, it seemed understandable that the most likely reason for doing so at the time that the devs wanted to avoid that level of profanity in the game, as they typically with their games have in the past. However with the addition of a new Infernus line in conversation with Yamato that was just pushed with the Old Gods update, this reasoning (if it was the main one) is gone.
It's clear from Holliday's tone and delivery of her lines when talking to Lash that she has particular contempt and disdain for him and his antics. The old line successfully captured that. The new one does not. The new line makes her sound reluctantly flattered, which not only is disconnected from her other interactions with him, but also her other line in the same conversation; the change of tone is jarring and noticeably out of place in a way the original absolutely was not. If the devs have changed their mind again and are willing to let the rare f bomb fly in this game, Holliday is by far the most deserving of one in this context, and the line for it already exists and has been very well received by many of those who have heard it for how hard it hits.
Deadlock is already standing out in a huge way within the genres it's blending, and letting it keep that slight bit of mature edge/grittiness that comes with rare profanity when warranted is just one more way it can continue to distinguish itself.
