heyhey! good day to all who read this ^^
i've been playing deadlock for a while, and I've played a lot of Holliday alongside other characters, and thanks to this i was able to notice one peculiar thing about her hero select pose: it's underwhelming compared to the rest of the hero roster

take these 6 for example, theres so much personality! pizzaz! it really shows off their characters well and lets us expect certain character traits (like Celeste being flashy and acrobatic, Rem being child-like, etc) that end up being true
as for Holliday's current pose, it's not bad, but its not as good as it could be; I think you could PUSH her pose more, make it more active, more dynamic, show off her personality more (like cover her face partly with her hat to show a more gloomy / sad trait, or make her arm more stretched out and gun more pointed at the viewer to emphasize on the accurate aim aspect of her character and being serious about her job). Additionally I think including crackshot or lasso as part of the hero select pose would be great too, but ofcourse not necessary ^^
maybe it's a little unfair comparing an older character to the new six, but even older characters like Abrams, Warden, Dynamo, have more dynamic poses and interesting-looking hero selects than Holliday
to further show off my point, i made a few drawings!

in the drawing i tried to push her pose more. made her back arch more and her shoulders perpendicular to her hips, made the gun more pointed towards the viewer, etc etc
i do think having both crackshot and lasso in there might be a little overwhelming/cluttery so i made versions with either just lasso or crackshot

(in my opinion, just crackshot is the better version, since the gun already has a lot of attention to it, the crackshot helps further push that ^^)
and for the sake of demonstration, ive made a sketch that shows the barebones of the pose; so that you could understand what i mean better :]

im no professional, but i think this pose provides a dynamic line of action. with lots of contrast in the body parts (hips and shoulders, hat and shoulders, etc) to keep it interesting all through out, and having her shoulders risen up like that to have a "battle-ready" pose and having straight, stretched out legs helps with that too
this is a lot of yap but it all comes from a place of genuine love for deadlock, the art direction is AMAZING, and the world building is genuinely so astonishingly good !! i just think Holliday, for being such a good character (lore wise, and design wise) could use some extra love ^^
would love to answer any questions about my idea, cheers!
keep up the good work valve ^^
