There are several things I've noticed that are lacking in the Vitality Category. One of those is a solid hybrid defense item. The other is the fact that a grand total of 0 Vitality items are imbued, but there are plenty of Vitality Active items. I decided to make an item that would help address both of these facts.
The Warmage Coat serves as a middle ground between several items. It provides a barrier, like the the Damage type specific barrier items, though this barrier is gained when you activate the imbued ability. It also provides some Fire rate and Cooldown reduction if enemies manage to burn through the barrier. Passively, it offers both Spirit and Bullet resist, which makes it a great option when you just need more defense, but not necessarily a bunch of regen (such as from Fortitude).
It doesn't offer as much raw damage mitigation as Spirit or Bullet Resilience, but it makes up for it with the barrier as well as offering damage reduction against most effects (true damage effects like Tank buster are, necessarily, excluded).
