The Tailor OC.png
Hero Name: The Tailor
Real Name: Unknown
Protection - Resistance - Saviour
Background Lore:
No city claims him. No one truly knows him. His identity remains a complete and utter mystery.

In every part of the world, there are rumors: a narrow storefront wedged between buildings, never seen before. No address. No location that stays the same. Some swear it appears only at dusk; others insist it’s only when it rains.

Yet one thing always remains the same—they feel an inexplicable pull to go inside. The door is always unlocked, as if someone is waiting for them.

Inside, the tailor stands.
He never gives a name, and he never asks for payment. Instead, he takes measurements—precise, accurate and always with a smile. His hands move faster than they should, needle flashing like a blade. The fabric he uses doesn’t fray, doesn’t stain, and never appears in any catalog. Those inside his domain feel no urge to flee, no instinct to resist. The thought simply never comes.

Once the Tailor finishes, his guest is compelled to leave, clothed in a garment made expressly for them. Then—without warning, without sound—the shop vanishes. In the space of a single breath, the Tailor and his store are no more.
An exchange has been made. The visitor departs with new attire; the Tailor takes his due. What was taken is never spoken of, never seen again. But whomever leaves is aware that something has changed, something has been lost—for better or worse. But as for what, only the Tailor knows.

Extra Lore:

The Tailor is currently under the radar of the OSIC as a potential threat.

The Tailor is meant to have ties with The Doorman as they both originate from the same place. They share a rivalry, but haven’t seen each other until the events of the game.

Creator Note:
Just wanted to say quickly, The Tailor is a refined version of my older post of my concpet hero Voodoo. But, she wasn't really refined enough for my liking... So, I’ve reused some elements of her abilities and design into The Tailor, who I’ve taken far more time on.

I couldn’t decide on which ultimate suited him better, so I kept both in for now.
Feedback would be appreciated as I find balancing concept heroes very difficult.

wow, really well thought out well done, i can see how much work you put into this character, very interesting and mysterious i really like the design and the background lore and ability building, really good job i hope one of the developers or someone on the team sees this 😁👏👍

The Tailor's abilities & Info have been updated!

Weapon:

His weapon name has changed to: Divine Needles

Tags Updated:
New:
Guardian - Righteous - Deity
Old: Protection - Resistance - Saviour

Slight Visual Adjustment:

To signal how upgraded Ability 1 (Stitch Up) is, The Tailor will start off using only 1 needled hand. But once at AP 5, both hands will become needled when casting the ability.

Updated Abilities:
Ability 1:
Stitch Up
AP 1 Changed To: -10 Seconds Cooldown
AP 5 Changed To: Stitch Up now removes all non-ultimate debuffs

New Ability 2:
Ability 2:
Tailor Fitted
When taking damage, dealing damage or healing, The Tailor will passively craft a piece of clothing which can be used on himself or an ally. The effect of the clothing varies depending on which accumulated first. Once one has become available, another will not be built up until used.

Taking any damage passively charges up Vest Of Pain
Grant an ally (or self) a magical vest which gives a barrier
Up Time: 10 Seconds
Cooldown: 2 Seconds
Barrier: 200

Dealing damage passively charges up Gloves Of Fury
Grant an ally (or self) magical gloves which gives +20 Spirit Damage & +20 Bullet Damage
Up Time: 10 Seconds
Cooldown: 2 Seconds

Healing allies passively charges up Coat Of Time
Grant an ally (or self) a magical coat which applies increased fire rate by 25%
Up Time: 10 Seconds
Cooldown: 2 Seconds

AP 1: Charges Faster

AP 2: Vest Of Pain now adds +5m Move Speed & Barrier +50
Gloves Of Fury deal additional +35 Spirit Damage & +35 Bullet Damage
Coat Of Time now speeds up cooldown reduction by 1.5 seconds while active

AP 5: Now applies to both 1 nearby ally and to self, up time increased by 5 seconds

Creator Note:
The original Ability 2 (Unravel) felt very boring and uninteresting as a passive. I felt the need to redo it entirely and make a charge up ability similar to that of Victor's Pain Battery, but much more complex. I reused the old ultimate name (Tailor Fitted) since I decided to keep Fated Threads and just scrap the other ultimate idea.

Ultimate Update:
Ability 4 (Ultimate):
Fated Threads
When cast upon an ally or himself, whichever enemy deals the killing blow to anyone affected by Fated Threads–will automatically die no matter their HP & resistances. While Ultimate is active, The Tailor (and allies) can still use abilities and items.
Cooldown: 150 Seconds
Duration: 10 Seconds

AP 1: Ability duration increased by 5 seconds

AP 2: -20 Cooldown

AP 5: If Fated Threads failed, the ultimate cooldown becomes 35 seconds

Creator note:
Due to Ability 2 (Tailor Fitted) being added in, the barrier's on The Tailor's ultimate had to be changed and adjusted. "If Fated Threads failed", means if the ultimate ran out before taking a killing blow.

nice, love to see more updates on tailor, i think its a really cool character, and the changing of abilities feels like actual game dev balance and stuff so thats very cool well done

This is brilliant, I think the only thing that would be pretty busted in game would be the passive ability. I think something to do with ability 3 having a pin add extra resist reduction to his passive as it would be a flat 5 second extra reduction instead of 20% total for just being there lol, could also increase range (passive) because of that. Another idea is changing the T3 A2 to increase radius and making the T3 A3 reduce resists too, this could be viable because his weapon seems pretty good. So he wouldn't be completely useless as a support.

Just seen you updated it so this is pointless now, woops.

The Tailor's Lore
the-tailor-astratextor-png.98376

Beyond time, beyond space, beyond it all—there was once a great and powerful god known as Astratextor.
He was known to craft and weave creations out of concepts, thoughts, feelings and even sometimes pure nothingness. This is how he got the title of Astratextor, a weaver of the stars…

While he may have been considered a genius and master of creation, other gods did mock Astratextor for being far too emotional and sentimental. Claiming his mind was similar to that of a mortal.

Not being understood by his fellows made Astratextor seek out other company and from there he took under his wing a new fledgling god. He taught the fledling how to bend dimensions, create something from nothing and the importance of responsibility with the new power he held.

Unfortunately however, after spending a long time together, the fledgling god would eventually betray Astratextor. Wishing to conquer realms, to use his powers for destruction and to show everyone that a god should be feared. The fledgling went on to destroying Astratextor’s most valuable creation—The Origins Core. A spherical bubble universe that Astratextor was building in hopes it would one day sustain life. It was a true masterpiece, a one of a kind creation, it meant everything to the star weaving god.
He tried countless times to recreate The Origins Core, but to no avail…

In a fit of despair and sadness, Astratextor fled the realm of the gods to be on earth. Needing a bit of respite and time away from the realm he once called home.
But the god couldn’t just forgive and forget, his need for justice ate up at him for centuries. Staying on earth for so long made him witness to the injustice of humanity, reminding him more of what he had lost. The thought of innocent people suffering made Astratextor long for a change...only, he'd have to make that change happen.

Hundreds of years later, The Tailor was born and Astratextor was long forgotten. He now lures people into his domain (the tailoring shop), and judges the souls of those who enter. Everyone is at his mercy once inside, and your memories, your thoughts, your feelings and even your dreams are fair game to him. It’s his choice to use whatever materials he wants to use—from you.

If you’re a good person, then you’re in luck! The Tailor will craft a clothing piece using something that has caused pain, or a negative impact on you such as an illness or trauma. Recreating it into something new, wearable and unique…you’ve been relieved of whatever bothered you and you’ve gained something new to tell the tale.

But…let’s say you’re a bad person, then prepare to be harshly punished. The Tailor will take away your comfort, your favourite memory, dignity, luck and maybe even your sense of self. He will take away the most important thing to you just so you suffer the most—a fitting punishment for the harm you’ve caused. You leave with nothing, you’re not the same, something is missing and wrong. You’ll never know what you’ve lost, but your life has never been happy or comfortable since.
The Tailor smiles, what he’s taken from you will help him craft some new wears that he will give to those more deserving. It’s fine, you didn’t need love anyway, you were too cruel for that—best give it to someone far more worthy.

Once The Tailor is satisfied with his judgement, you are forced to leave his tailoring shop. The door opens by itself and you cannot help but simply show yourself out. The moment you’re free, him and his domain has relocated—onto the next customer, or perhaps victim.

This is how The Tailor became a folklore, and is whispered all over the world. No one knows his name, his origins, why he never seems to look any different. His shop is never in the same place, it appears and disappears in a blink of an eye. One thing’s for sure though, everyone who’s ever met The Tailor leaves feeling changed… for either better or worse.

Now comes the next Maelstrom, where The Tailor wishes to partake under fair means in hopes to get his wish granted by one of the patrons. That wish being to have his Origins Core recreated, so he can finally put everything behind him.

Creator Note:
The Tailor is meant to be a god so hurt and betrayed by The Doorman that he just casually decided to judge mortals for their actions. He got so tired of the corruption and injustice of everything, that he felt like someone had to take up the role.
Unbeknownst to him, The Doorman has taken up residence in The Baroness and has been tormenting mortals. The biggest difference between The Doorman and The Tailor’s methods of torment is that Tailor will ONLY punish an evil doer, whereas Doorman seems to enjoy vexing anyone (except Ivy, apparently?)

Right from the start of his design, I knew I wanted him to be deeply interwoven in Doorman’s story. Only, not much lore exists right now—so I’ve had to make a lot up which could become extremely inaccurate later. I wanted to also hint that The Tailor is the one who ascended The Doorman to godlihood to begin with, but I was unsure if it was too much or wouldn’t work. It might be kept in, I know how it would work but...hm, overthinking.
Also the reason Doorman destroyed The Origins Core was because Tailor spent a lot of time on it, he would occasionally ignore The Doorman to focus on that. He sort of got jealous, annoyed and he was still fairly new to being a god so he sort of messed up. I don’t know, I’m trying here people lol!
Anyway, Tailor’s lore was written out around 3-4 months ago and I’ve only just now shared it. Any questions or feedback is of course welcome, thank you so much if you read all this.
