Hero Concept - Some kinda Pigeon hero.

I thought it would be really cool to have a hero with a more scruffy look that represents the more regular denizens of the Cursed Apple, someone focused around the ghost pigeons you can see in the hideout and around the map.

They'd be a scout-like character, able to show enemies through walls for their team, setting up traps and locking down enemies for the rest of their team to pick them off. A support-gun hybrid with a fair bit of build variety.

Gun: Essentially all the heroes will prioritise fire-rate over precision shots/pure damage, so I think it would fill a hole to have a hero whose gun is designed to be slow-firing and high-precision instead, where prioritising landing slow, heavy-hitting headshots is more viable than maxxing firerate. Similar bullet behaviour to Holliday, but a slower firerate like Silver's gun. It should have a higher crit rate than other heroes.

Abilities:

1: Tripwire - A charged ability that the player can place similar to Graves' Grasping Hands ability, but it's harder to spot and focuses more on slowing and debuffing enemies rather than immobilising them. When an enemy player walks into a Tripwire, it causes a heavy, fading slow and small spirit damage. Some upgrade ideas:
  • Increased Slow duration.
  • Removes a stamina on hit.
  • Prevents stamina usage on hit.
  • Increased Spirit damage.
  • Increased Tripwire Length
  • Reduced Cooldown + Increased Tripwire duration.
  • Reduces enemies' resistances on hit.
2: Pigeon Mark - This ability could be played in various ways depending on what you're going for; it could send out pigeons in a long cone in front of the player that mark whoever's in said cone, it could be similar to Vindicta's bird where it's more of a skillshot, or it could be like Grey Talon's ult where the player has to actually control the bird and hit a player to mark them. Regardless, when an enemy player is marked, they'd be visible through walls to nearby players for a period of time. Enemies take increased critical damage when marked, and can see when they're marked by a ghost pigeon sitting on their shoulder. Some upgrade ideas:
  • Increased mark duration.
  • Increased critical damage bonus.
  • Slowed when marked.
  • Mark bounces to nearby enemies on initial hit.

3: Takeoff - Pigeons pick up and toss the player into the air in the direction they're moving. Similar to when Vindicta uses her Flight and then cancels it for a burst of speed. Holding Right Click (or the ADS keybind) makes the player slow down in their descent when using. A movement ability that can be used both offensively, defensively, or just for getting around the map faster. Should have a relatively short cooldown, to keep the player mobile if someone gets too close. Some upgrade ideas:
  • Air movement control increased on use.
  • Increased gun damage on use.
  • Stamina regen increased on use.
  • Gust of wind knocks away enemies on use.
4: Stunning Flock - The ult would send out a flurry of pigeons in a cone ahead of the player after a short cast time, which would then surround and harry any enemies caught in range. This would immobilise them for a short duration, as well as dealing DOT for a while. The DOT should be a little shorter than Affliction, and do a little less damage. Some upgrade ideas:
  • Increased immobilise duration.
  • Increased DOT duration.
  • Reduces enemy resists.
  • Pigeon Marks enemies hit.
  • Slows enemies hit.

That's about it! I hope at least that this can serve as some inspiration, if nothing else!

I wanna add I think 2 should be a castable passive. Like you can cast it onto a wall and it will highlight enemies in LOS or maybe a certain distance thru walls. And then have those passive debuffs when you cast it onto someone

Instead of the 1 I listed here, here's a more thematic ability to consider:

1: Ethereal Net - A net used for catching pigeons, instead used for catching enemies. A charged skill-shot ability with similar projectile properties as Rem's Pillow Toss, but needing to be a direct hit rather than an AoE. On hit, it'd cause a heavy, fading slow and Silences the enemy for a short time, as well as small Spirit damage on hit. Some upgrade ideas:
  • Increased Slow duration.
  • Removes a stamina on hit.
  • Prevents stamina usage on hit.
  • Increased Spirit damage.
  • Curses the enemy, instead of Silences (should absolutely be a T5).

Also, with the 3: The slow fall speed on ADS could easily be a passive.

As for the backstory, could be someone who works in pest control, upset that people are enacting crueller methods on the spirit animals of the city since they can't be caught by regular methods. So, they're fighting in the ritual in order to secure better rights for the pests they now consider friends. Just food for thought!

That's not a bad idea, but it could become a bit too oppressive if you couldn't remove the pigeon in some way. Could be like Ven's trap where you could just shoot it away, though I'm more privvy to a skill-shot ability. I think the character as a whole should emphasize landing tricky shots for a big pay-off.

Even the 4 could be a single-target ult instead of a cone, almost like a shootable Mo ult?
