Lore
The first maelstrom deeply disrupted New York. However, nothing was more affected than the medieval weapons collection of the Brooklyn Museum. After numerous interventions by the authorities to capture swords, spears, and even catapults that had suddenly come to life, one suit of armor remained unaccounted for.A few years later, a mysterious individual—fully clad in armor and calling himself Sir Knightlington of York—began roaming the streets, proclaiming that he defended widows and orphans in the name of the King-President of the United Duchies of America.
This eccentric knight quickly became a sensation among New Yorkers, who were always eager to hear more of his extraordinary adventures—whether triumphant or disastrous. Known for his absurd feats and his chivalrous love for his beloved Victoria (a non-animated Victorian dress), one thing is certain:
“Where there is danger, you can count on me to help!”

S: It is good to fight alongside a fellow knight.
B: A fellow what now?
S: Apologies, I thought by your armor that you were a knight.
B: Mate, that’s not armor—that’s just my body.
S: OH MY GOD, A TALKING SUIT OF ARMOR.
B: Seriously!?
#2
S: Tell me, Sir Bebop, what do you fight for?
B: My mum. She’s sick, and only the patrons can cure her.
S: A noble goal! I, Sir Knightlington of York, pledge upon my honor that I will win this ritual and grant new life to your progenitor!
B: No need to be so formal… but thanks.
#3
B: So, who made you?
S: What do you mean, kind sir?
B: Like, do you have parents? A creator of some sort?
S: I... do not know. I suppose I must have parents somewhere, but I do not recall their names or faces…
B: Well, I hope you remember them soon. It’s important to stay close to family.

S: Stay behind me, fair lady! I swear to protect you!
P: Ahhh!!! I’ve always wanted you to say that!
S: Say what?
P: Nothing! Oh please, protect me, O powerful knight!

P: I can’t believe I’m going to perform this ritual with THE Sir Knightlington of York! You’re such a legend!
S: I am honored to hear that my tales inspire such a promising young lady!
P: I have so many questions! Is it true you defeated a lich with only a frying pan? Or that you beat a minotaur at basketball? Or—
S: Please, keep your questions for after the ritual! I will gladly answer them all then.
P: Can’t wait!

P: Sir, why are you here for this ritual, if I may ask?
S: You may. I am here to find Victoria, the fair maiden who has stolen my heart. She has been cursed, and I need the patrons’ help to undo it!
P: Oh my god, this is so romantic!!! I hope I experience something like this someday…

D: I have heard a lot about your stories, Sir Knightlington. I know my wife never misses them!
S: I’m always grateful to meet one of my admirers.
D: Marla is an even bigger admirer than I am. Say, after the ritual, would you mind meeting her? I’m sure she would be thrilled to talk to you.
S: But of course!
D: Fantastic!

D: I must say, you’re quite the fascinating specimen, Sir Knightlington. I have never seen a haunted object possessing such personality before.
S: Who are you calling a haunted object, exactly?
D: Um… you?
S: I am not a mere haunted object! I’m a human being like anyone else!
D: Fascinating… I—I mean, I’m sorry if I offended you. I wasn’t aware of—… I sincerely apologize for my rude behavior.
S: It’s alright. Just don’t call me such nasty names from now on.

S: It is an honor fighting alongside a fellow knight like you, Professor. With our skills combined, we will claim victory for our loved ones!
D: Oh uh- yes, it is my honor as well. Say, I was wondering if you would mind talking a bit about your—how should I put this—your opinions and thoughts on the world.
S: I—I don’t mind, but I must warn you that I’m a free spirit by nature and ill-suited for any discussions regarding politics or similar matters.
D: Oh, I understand, but I am convinced that you have a unique way of seeing things, and I would be honored if you could share your thoughts with me.
S: Well then, how could I refuse!

So, Sir Knightlington of York—the third character I’ve imagined. I know there have been a lot of similar concepts about haunted armor on the forums, but I wanted to share my own vision of this type of character.
He’s, of course, a very comedic and dramatic character, inspired by a popular piece of literature that you’ve probably guessed by now (it’s not like I’ve been very subtle about it). Still, I really like what I’ve done with him. I feel like he could be an incredibly fun character—not only for his dialogue interactions, but also to actually play.
I mean, you get to ride a horse and impale your enemies on a lance this is the coolest shit ever.
As always, I’m really glad to hear your thoughts on my design, and stay tuned for the next one, which should be ready by the end of the week!
