Nightshade - The Walking Dreamer
I imagine Nightshade to be mysterious and almost formless, wisps of dreamlike gas float around them constantly twirling and revealing nothing of what is hidden beneath.
Their colour scheme in my head is lavender/purple or turquoise/green, but I don’t want their style to clash or be mistaken for Lady Geist’s silhouette at a distance.
I think of Nightshade’s voice to be calming and soothing, as if luring their victims in, but with an edge of malevolence.

This hero focuses on deception and close range brawling. The abilities should enable Nightshade to get in close and take the edge in fights by distracting enemies and generally making them less effective at fighting. Their damage almost entirely comes from their attacks as none of the abilities below deal damage directly.

Backstory
Nightshade has a dark and mysterious past...

Abilities
Weapon Attack
Nightshade’s weapon attack fires an energy blast from their hand in a cone shape. It is relatively short range but can hit multiple targets and is not a projectile.

Ability 1: Empowered Auto Attacks [Burden]
Nightshade teleports forward a short distance and empowers their own auto attacks, extending the range and increasing damage based on a spirit multiplier. These empowered auto attacks also apply a DoT which is doubled if the target is cursed with either 3 or 4.
Level 1:
Lower cooldown

Level 2:
Higher DoT damage / duration

Level 3:
Longer range teleport

Ability 2: One Way Wall [Phantasm]
Nightshade places a large one way wall similar to the ones placed around the map. It is oriented so that Nightshade can see through, but enemies cannot see back through the other side. Nightshade’s attacks are empowered if they pass through the wall. This stacks with 1.

Level 1:
Longer duration

Level 2:
Larger wall

Level 3:
Enemies that pass through the wall are cursed

Ability 3: Curse [Delude]
This is a point and click ability that is placed on an enemy. Targets can be chosen in a large cone and through walls if allies have vision of them.
The affected enemy sees no animation and hears no audio cue. The affected enemy starts to see fake spirit orbs around them and multiple orbs spawning from killed minions. When they shoot them they see +X soul pop ups but do not actually gain any souls.
Nightshades attacks do extra damage to cursed targets and DoTs applied through empowered auto attacks have their damage increased as long as the enemy is cursed.

Level 1:
Density of souls increases
Level 2:
When an enemy shoots a fake soul, they are slowed
Level 3:
Enemies that die while curse spread the curse to their allies / resetting the cooldown

Ability 4: Big Curse [Delirium]
Nightshade sends a wave of curse energy out in a large cone in front of them ignoring walls. Enemies hit by the wave have their UI changed, all players health bars (and other telling UI elements) appear grey to the affected enemies including allies. Their audio is dampened and fake audio sounds are played, such as voice lines, weapon sounds, etc… Spirit orbs appear everywhere for the affected enemies and shooting them slows the enemy.
Nightshade’s attacks are empowered against affected enemies in the same way as 3 and these damage boosts stack.

Level 1:
Shorter cooldown
Level 2:
Longer duration
Level 3:
Enemies hit are silenced for 3 seconds
