[HERO CONCEPT] Entropy, Rogue Member of Paradox

photon

Active member
An expert in temporal manipulation and one of the founders of Paradox, Entropy became a double agent for the OSIC. Unknowingly recruited into the OSIC’s covert Special Temporal Operations unit, he now serves a task force whose sole mission is to stop Paradox at all costs, driven by the fear that its interference with the natural flow of time could trigger a universe-ending event.

Patron's wish: Wants to know who recruited him into the OSIC's STO. If he's against Paradox, he wants to make sure she loses so she doesn't get her wish.

ABILITY 1: (ACTIVE) TEMPORAL BARRAGE

Dash forward and shoot a barrage of bullets with perfect accuracy without wasting any ammo at any nearby enemies in the dash landing zone.

ABILITY 2: (ACTIVE) GRAVITY PROJECTION

Throws a pebble to a target location. Upon landing, the pebble assembles a barrier around itself. Allied units inside the barrier gain 50% evasion against enemy bullets fired from outside the barrier. Evasion means each bullet that would hit has a 50% chance to be completely nullified.

The barrier does not affect bullets fired from inside the barrier.

Enemies can destroy the barrier by hitting the center pebble with a heavy melee attack.

ABILITY 3: (PASSIVE + ACTIVE) ENTROPHICAL AMMUNITION

Your bullets embed themselves in enemies for a short duration.

Activating this ability recalls all embedded bullets from nearby enemies, causing them to reverse back into your weapon. Each recalled bullet returns one unit of ammo and deals damage equal to 15% of its original bullet damage to the enemy it was embedded in.

Bullets embedded in enemies are automatically recalled when those enemies die.

ULTIMATE ABILITY: (ACTIVE) POSTERITY

You summons a future version of yourself at a target location. (basically an illusion)

Upon activation, a Future Body is created with the following properties:

- The Future Body has 100% of Entropy’s weapon damage and spirit damage.
- It spawns with the same current health as Entropy at the time of casting.
- It has its own independent ability cooldowns, separate from Entropy’s original body.
- It cannot be manually controlled or moved.
- It will remain "alive" for 60 seconds or if killed by enemies; Killing any of the bodies does not automatically cause the other to die - they are independent.

While inactive, the non-controlled body becomes static and will automatically fire its weapon at nearby enemies, prioritizing enemy heroes, or the last enemy hero it damaged.

Reactivation - SWAP BODY

Reactivating this ability causes You to swap control between your original body and the future body.
Only one body can be directly controlled at a time.
Each body maintains separate cooldowns and states.
The body not under player control remains stationary and continues its automatic attacks.

As you gathered, this is Arc Warden's ult from DotA but adjusted for Deadlock. It might seem a little clunky of the other body to not move but I think this limitation could actually create interesting gameplay around trying to control the 2 bodies whether its for farming the map or fighting.

Bonus Lore:

The lore implication of "Posterity" is that at of the time of the ritual no time travel technology exists yet, but Entropy knows he will discover it in the future since he seems to be able to "will" future versions of himself to come and help him at certain moments of need.
The STO (Special Temporal Operations) operates with the belief that time manipulation must be handled with extreme prejudice, even when not knowing what your outcome will cause; so sometime in the future after the ritual, functional time travel is invented and Entropy has to go back in time to the ritual to help himself in the past, closing the time loops.
