CHROMA - Reworked - here's (Original Concept)

Concept Designs:

I wanted to play around with different designs and colors. I thought the leg prosthetic look would be a neat addition to her almost all glass design. Personally my favorite is the first option.
In the previous post I mentioned that her dress resembles a 1940s flapper dress.
Her "gun" is her right arm. Shoots shards of glass and then does a "ripple" effect for her a reload

Playstyle:

Chroma is meant to roam/disrupt/poke. Some of her skills include bleed. Chroma isn't a Tanky character nor a Hard carry, probably late game with the right items can be.

Weapon: Right hand - Shoots 15-20 shards of glass "bullets". Reload is a ripple down her forearm of new glass shards forming.

1: Splinter - Creates a wave that causes bleed when hit or if character walk into (small barrier) then either after 3 seconds (or can be a the second time you hit 1) the glass breaks into splinters and comes back to chroma. Anyone in the line of the "wave" and chroma will get hit by these shards. The shards coming back won't inflict bleed. Just small dmg.

2: Window's Gaze - These are traps (3-4) that you place around the map. Specifically in jungle areas. Once someone passes by it, the glass window will break shooting shards at enemy team causing bleed and will show them on the mini map for 5 seconds. (Sorry quick design - hopefully looks cooler lol)

3: Glass Halo - Pretty simple, just a ring of glass that shoots out. This one may be replaced. At the bottom I have a second idea that plays more into "illusion"

4: Kaleidoscope Sanctuary - OKAY this is an ult. that will protect your team from getting skill and ult. bombed by reversing the damage onto their own team. Similar to Kelvin's Dome, is a Hexagon shaped by glass panels. Glass panels are solid but in between the panels you can walk through. When inside this ult. whatever skill/ult. the enemy uses will dmg their team. You won't kill your teammates (stops at 100 health or something), BUT it will hurt and could get killed by opposing team ofcourse. Ults do 50% less than original dmg and skills do 75% less - all on your own team. It's basically like a silencer but the goal is for people to waste their skills/ults and hurt their team instead. The only dmg that can be done is from your basic gun and melee hits - although gun dmg also goes down a small percentage.

Other 3. skill option: This plays on more of illusions: place a glass box that then creates an illusion of one teammate. The illusion will run around the map (can be programmed the same as the bots in botmatch). Meant to pull players away and somewhat chase illusion. Illusion won't do dmg. Or maybe once fully developed it does small dmg enough to try to convince players for a second that its real.

Quotes/Story:

Ignore original story. As I've reworked her design maybe doesn't fit as well.

Chroma: "Ah well if it isn't-"
Doorman: "It's the Doorman now."
Chroma: "As you wish, lol"

Seven: "Glass breaks easily"
Chroma: "Broken glass still cuts doesn't it?"

Venator: "I've seen stained glass murals in the cathedrals, amazing!"
Chroma: "Something else right?"

Idk kinda up to the Valve if they do pick her up for her story. Her design is based off of Cathedrals especially the flower design on her forehead, from St. Patrick's cathedral. Her Veil resembles weddings, and black scarf for funerals.

Anyways, thanks for the positivity for my concept! Much appreciated:)

Still by far a favorite of mine; an intricately gorgeous and elegant design. The amount of passion and creativity here is awesome. I freaking adore the new versions just as much as the old one, both are beautiful and fit the time period/aesthetic of Deadlock perfect. I'm gonna miss the og dress though, but if Deadlock ever adds purchasable cosmetics hold onto these ideas. You have some major talent, keep it up!

AHH I remember this one!!! genuinely my favorite concept in this entire forum, what an absolutely STUNNING design. I would also love to do fanart for her if you’re fine with that, I’d be sure to share it with you!

Dude thank you! I appreciate it so much! I also loved her og design and was somewhat sad to rework her, but I do like both! Hopefully if they pick her up then both designs can stay somehow like you said:)

Oh my gosh I would be honored! Yeah throw it in this thread or share however, I would love to see!! I just saw your mime design and it's sick!! Hopefully they pick it up

Very interesting character design. One of my favourites I've seen!

You don't have much lore with her but with the implication that she knows the Doorman in the past is a neat idea.

Paige can bring to 'life' stuff from her books, so could this character be created by someone making glass for a cathedral? Or maybe someone summoned her...

"As I laboured in my work, I fell asleep on my workbench. In my dreams, I saw her. How the light reflected off her that made her as bright as a star. When I woke, I made a window just of her. To capture the beauty I saw in that moment. When I was finished, I tiredly smiled. My finest work. I stopped smiling when the figure walked forward, out of the glass."

Wow I love this little story you got going! Honestly would be cool if she was like some sort of spirit or goddess-like being that was summoned through the glassmaker! This would be such a cool scene to animate too!
Thanks so much for the comment I appreciate it!

Thank you!

With her being of glass, you could focus on the theme of transparency. People assume she's hiding something (I mean, she is some strange magical being) but she never lies. This gives her a contrast with the Doorman, who has changed his name and hides his true nature.

You have mentioned in your previous post of her that she likes the fine arts. I can see her like architecture and adore seeing sights in New York City. Some call her vain for liking trinkets, jewelry, and buildings so much but she can bring up how these things usually outlast their creators and owners, and they continue to inspire people throughout the ages. Beauty has a purpose. A 'window' into the soul.

Honestly I would love to keep elements from her original story too! I like how you mention her love for the arts still and in addition of her being the opposite of the doorman is pretty neat too! Fun opposites theme going. Someone gave me feedback on reddit saying they really like the anti-paradox theme as well in the og post, but maybe that should be a separate character?

BUT I do really love your ideas for lore! You write some fire stuff!!🔥🔥🔥 big fan of the ideas you've added
