[Hero Ability] Point Target select an area that, for a period of time, you are able to enter the walls of as a 2D texture.

An ability that would allow the hero in question to point target a wall, then within a spherical area around that wall, they become able to enter the space along walls as a two dimensional texture, able to travel along them at higher speed.

While within the wall, the hero can use their abilities and can shoot out from the wall, but are also shootable. The movement would be somewhat similar to noclip, save for being bound within the two dimensional surface of the object they're inside.

To represent what I mean, I've taken a screenshot of a building from a game and applied the logic of the ability to it. To note, this only works on walls within the area. This would not let them, say, go through the floor, or pass through to the other side of a wall. It merely runs along the forward facing surface of geometry within the ability's radius.

To exit a wall without having to leave the area, the hero could simply jump and they would pop out of the wall walking forward, or falling if they happen to be a distance above the ground. This would also let them slide along a wall, pop out briefly, then enter another wall within the area if they so chose.

yes! i had two similar ideas like this.

In my mind it would be like Mo & Krill burrow but as a flat texture but my idea let the hero travel to the floor as well...

The main thing with floor travel is that because of tunnels, it could be a very uninterruptible escape method at best, and map breakingly glitchy at worst. At least, in this manner of "generate a phase-able area". Since there's a lot of areas within the map that, if you get under them, you have to unstuck to get out from.

Limiting it to wall geometry means that the enemy team will always be able to at least see the hero performing this ability as they move, as well as eliminating the potential for glitching through the floor. Though, phasing through to the floor could be another ability. Maybe an ability that briefly reveals outlines of the geometry past a wall, then you can dart down into it? Maybe on a delay.
