After the major update, I found that when using the Vulkan rendering engine, I couldn't enter the "Explore New York City" mode, and the same issue occurred with other modes that involve accessing New York. Every time I try to enter, after the loading finishes, the game closes directly without any error reports. This is definitely a bug. I also noticed that some people on the Steam forums are experiencing the same issue.
Although switching the rendering engine to DX11 temporarily solves the problem, for some reason, in modes that require connecting to a match—such as playing with bots or custom matches—there are excessively long loading times. I'm not sure exactly how long, but it's long enough for the match to end on its own because I never joined. However, clicking on "Explore New York" (which should run locally) allows normal entry and is noticeably faster than joining server-based modes. I've been struggling with this for almost two days—I can only explore the map and haven't been able to play a single match!
Deadlock has released several patches in the meantime, but none have fixed this issue. I don't see many people discussing it on this web forum, so it might not be getting enough attention. However, at least a dozen people on the Steam discussion boards have encountered similar problems! I think it might be because not many people use Vulkan, so the issue seems less widespread. But this clearly needs to be fixed.
