Hello,
I am experiencing a consistent and severe crash on Linux that makes Deadlock completely unplayable.
The game works perfectly in the lobby and menus, but as soon as I enter a match or queue, the Steam client crashes entirely without any error message or log. This causes an immediate disconnect and has already resulted in automatic bans.
This happens every single time.
Steps to reproduce:
Observed behavior:
• Lobby works normally.
• Crash happens only when match starts.
• Steam exits completely (not just the game).
• No crash log is generated.
• Vulkan crashes immediately.
• DirectX11 lasts a few minutes, then crashes.
• Happens consistently, not randomly.
• Makes the game unplayable and causes disconnect bans.
System information:
• Distro: Manjaro Linux
• Kernel: tested on 6.12 and 6.18
• GPU: NVIDIA RTX 2060 Super
• CPU: Intel i5-14600K
• NVIDIA drivers: tested older versions and 590
• Proton versions tested: Proton Experimental, Proton GE, default Proton
• Graphics APIs tested: Vulkan and DirectX11
What I already tried:
✔ Multiple Proton versions
✔ Different kernels
✔ Different NVIDIA drivers
✔ Disabling Steam overlay
✔ Clearing shader cache
✔ Vulkan and DX11
Nothing prevents the crash.
This appears to be a serious Linux/Proton compatibility issue, possibly related to match loading or rendering. Because Steam crashes entirely, I cannot collect logs safely without risking more bans.
Please investigate this issue, as it currently prevents playing Deadlock on Linux.
Thank you.
