Game changes my region when it finds a match

I'm a South America player recently whenever I queue into matches it says to me in my steam overlay that I'm on the São Paulo server but when the match begins my ping spikes and he steam overlay says I'm in another continent server with routing through São Paulo Server or even trough another country, sending an exemple. Does anyone know a way to make the game only matchmake in one server? Playing with 180+ms isn't a good option

I believe they removed the possibility force region way back if I remember correctly. At very off hours NA players get sent to EU most likely due to lack of players to create a game, even with the bad "average" matchmaking. I would assume it's the similar in your case but probably the other way around that your own region is lacking players for you to match with.

doesn seem to be true. South america does not lack players, this seems to be a isolated case, which could be a software interfering with the game network

Lacking players and matchmaking when you have 80 different ranks for that good 'ol average matchmaking tho. EU doesn't lack players either but we still get NA players during off hours. I mean just looking at SA leaderboard for popular hero like Infernus NA has 1000 players, EU has 1000 players, SA has 123, which is also the leaderboard with the highest number of players out of the entire roster for entire SA.

Might be a one-off but above is my experience when people get put into different region.

Nope nothing like that, a couple friends of mine that also played had a similar problem but instead of sending them to EU/NA server they were sent to the server in Argentina. Idk if it's a me problem with my connection or some weird routing that's happening in the background. Tbh I wish the game had a region picker like Dota 2 had (Or has, I haven't played Dota in a long while)

Idk if its lack of players, I've been playing since the the last batch of heroes launched and this problem only started recently, maybe less people are playing in SA since but it would be strange to be a sudden wave of people dropping the game? I'm currently Ritualist 6 and my friends are Seeker and Alchemist and we often play in a three or four stack, I just wish the game didn't throw me in 180+ms matches cause it feels horrible to play in those conditions
