FPS drops with more enemies in sight, but FPS is also worse overall

We shipped a temporary workaround for this (it was, in fact, the new hero outlines on older AMD graphics hardware) - hopefully the game should at least be playable for most (all?) of you now. Let me know if your FPS is still abysmal (and if so please post both your PC specs + a screenshot of your video settings).

Thanks!
My FPS drops are gone! Thankss

It's definitely much better now, but there are still some massive drops. Constant FPS now is 15% lower than before.

Specs:
- Intel i7-4770k @ 4.2 CPU
- Sapphire RX 480 8GB OC GPU
- 16GB 2100MHz RAM
- SSD Drives
- Windows 11

Video Settings:
- 1080p 60hz Full Screen
- FSR 2 Ultra Performance Mode
- All video settings on Low or Off
- Reduce flashing effects ON
- Fullscreen focus behaviour OFF
- fps_max 200 (I get 80-120)

More optimization updates could be good. I still have FPS issues with RTX 3050, Ryzen 5 5600h, 16GB RAM, I know its weaker GPU & CPU but they can ran Source 2 games well.

I've been struggling with my Ryzen 7 5700x, RTX 4060ti, 32gb 3000 Mhz Corsair Vengeance. Running with this config (ive been using for ages before the update and I used to have constant 165FPS. Now I get huge lag spikes in team fights that became unplayable

Have you tried disabling Nvidia Reflex Low, changing the scaling mode or verifying game files?

Same here! Huge FPS drops and seconds worth of stuttering mostly during big team fights. Started after new patch and wasn't a problem before :(

CPU: 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-12700KF

GPU : Intel Arc A770 16GB

Same, also intel arc a750. Before recent patch everything was perfect and 200+ fps, now 150-160fps and huge freezes 1-3 seconds during team fights.

Getting sound stutters and FPS drop on team fights especially in Patrion fight at base.

RTX 2080ti
128GB RAM
2x Intel Xeon CPU E5-2695 v2

Enabling FSR2 Quality lowers FPS by 20% for me, I also don't have the FSR3 option available.

game still drops frames when any mid-late game siege is happening
theres something going on with the base that tanks frames really hard when theres a big fight going on
worth noting that big fights happening away from bases does not suffer frame drops as much as fights inside or very near the bases

Subject: FPS Drops After Update – Performance Issue When Facing Combat

Post:
"I’m also experiencing FPS drops after the recent update. I’ve noticed that my frame rate tanks (down to ~60 FPS) whenever my camera faces the general direction of enemies—even if they’re far away or behind cover. As soon as I turn away, FPS jumps back to ~150.

My specs:

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5500
  • GPU: AMD RX 5600 XT
This seems like a rendering optimization issue, possibly related to how enemy models/effects are loaded in the distance. Has anyone else encountered this? Would appreciate any workarounds or dev feedback!"

I'm having the same issue.

Most of the game will run at a decent framerate but then at some point during a fight framerate drops from ~160 to ~25. Restarting and rejoining helps the issue for a few minutes, then it starts again.

I tried deleting the shaders folder and doing a clean install.

CPU: 10850K

Still fps is low, it seems like after these past minor patches it got worse again. I've attached a screenshot bellow with my video settings. I tried everything. I do get more fps like %8 increase if I use Stretch at lowest 40% render quality, but in late game it drops even lower than 50-60. Here I had 70fps with the UI on top, otherwise it would've just been around 50fps, those 50fps also feels like 20fps.

I have the latest AMD driver which is 25.5.1 but I always get the notification that my video driver is outdated when entering the game. Also Vulkan never worked, it just crashed my game instantly after intro video. Vulkan only works for me on Linux, but not in Windows.

I can also confirm that its gotten worse these last patches for me:

3600 Ryzen 5, GPU: 5600XT

Its most likely the new hero shading that is responsible for the heavy frame drops. Even with potato graphics, when every hero is on the screen, the fps tanks big time, even on the test map. If theres any command that reduces or remove the shading, it would help big time.

forgot to post
cpu: 5700X3D
gpu:RX 6400
16gbram, win 10

gpu is very low budget, but i had no frame drop problems by just looking at characters like this
this is a post "shop rework" patch issue
