Fairfax classics: Frag Grenade and Cluster Grenade active items. Tier 2 and Tier 3.

  • Simple yet effective tools for those that seek bit more bang for their gun builds or explosive variety to their heroes kits (that is not just and only limited to Alchemical Fire)
  • Grenades have separate damage growth per boon from heroes weapon, 0.5 damage per boon (for total 16 damage on max boon level) and scale with gun damage with 0.5x effiency.
  • Benefits from weapon items and hero abilities effects, such as: Slowing Bullets, Point Blank, Sharpshooter, etc.
  • Throwing Cluster Grenade to the air and shooting it there results bomblet rain to the ground, which gives it better effective radius.
 
Few additional notes i forgot to put in:
  • Since they are grenades with fuzes, they can bounce from walls and players/NPC's when hitting them.
  • The grenades are small, so they are bit harder to hit (compared to huge Holliday barrel or Doorman bell).
 
I think we can have some grenade-like items in the game. The cluster version looks very interesting. Do grenades create a blast wave, or they simple deal damage?

Also I don't understand, how damage scaling would work.

They simply deal damage, i was originally thinking about them creating actual shrapnel in every direction (and potentially shrapnel being able to bounce from walls) but that could potentially impact performance and might not work properly in Moba setting.

The damage scaling would be based on percentage bonus weapons get but halfed, like example the glass cannon gives +80% more damage, so half of that would be 40% and so the grenade would roughly deal like 84 damage with glass cannon alone.

Now i am sure there is better way to calculate the weapon damage bonus, Paradox is currently only hero that has ability that scales with gun damage from my knowledge but i am not sure how game calculates that.

One of the characters in the game's files has the bouncing bullets. It worked without any trouble, so I don't think there will be performance issues.
