Citadel_Pak_Error_1

Posting this on behalf of reddit user Woxjee who reports that they are getting "Citadel_Pak_Error_1 or something of the like, it only flashes on screen for a brief moment when the disconnect happens, and sometimes not at all. Its apparently been an issue for a year or two but lowering RAM seems to help some people. Its apparently been in the game over a year". Things they have tried that have not fixed it:
"Verified File integrity
Re-Installed the game
Turned On/Off XMP
Lowered Ram
Reset PC"

This issue prevents them from launching the game and thus they are unable to create an account on this forum.

Oh, that one is simple, you just need to delete that citadel pak that's corrupted and then just have someone send you their citadel pak that's not corrupted and it should fix it. If it's the same issue as the other people that had this problem, I mean.

Truth?? I’ve just dug around a tiny bit in the local files (I don’t know much about game files, mind you) and there are many named pak. How does one identify which is corrupted?
