Calico dying as cat in mid shop

Just played a game where I died randomly while shopping in mid as Calico, ran into the shop as the cat, and died while in the shop menu. I was very confused in game.

Watching replay it seems that it was treated like there was no room for the cat to change form and started taking damage? I could not replicate on NYC streets

Intentional mechanic but slightly poopy geometry, but what do you mean, you couldn't replicate it? It's that easy
