Boatswain, a navy diver of unknown age. His identity was long forgotten as a coverup by the US government after they knowingly sent the man to his death in search of evidence for the Astral Gate beneath the Bermuda Triangle, and anything that might point to what it was welcoming into the world.

The expedition started calm and slow, when suddenly communications stopped between the diver and the boat he had descended from. 30 minutes passed, quiet and eerie, some thought he had died, some thought he had found the Gate and travelled through it by mistake, or perhaps it was just a false alarm, the radios were failing, something insignificant and unrelated to the unknown horrors in the depths of the ocean, let alone the Bermuda Triangle itself, famed for what it might do to anyone caught out in its sea.

Inexplicably he suddenly burst out from the ocean's surface, flailing his arms and signaling for help, to be pulled onto the ship, catch his breath. When the crew and captain urged him to explain what had happened, what he had seen, the man was eerily quiet, but seemingly unharmed, and unaffected by the depth. No one questioned how he had managed to avoid pressure sickness, or a number of other worrying conditions he surely would've experienced after such a sudden, unannounced resurfacing attempt, in such a heavy suit no less.

The next few days were unusually cruel to the man, regular dives, enforced by the captain of the boat under guidance of the government, pressing harder for them to make some kind of discovery no matter what, regardless of the health of their only diver. Eash time he went down the communications cut out at the same time, for the same length, and he always came back to the surface again, panicked, desperate to be pulled in, but eerily quiet once aboard. Each time more barnacles appeared on his suit, which he refused to let anyone clean. Each time the outside grew grimier, murkier, aged, afflicted almost. Until one day the ship's log stopped updating, and the last communication was that of an update to the list of command. The ship never docked, but the unnamed diver was deemed its captain, and seemingly was taken over

Boatswain appears as a severely aged and dirty Navy Diver suit. The front glass is marred with muck and seaweed, which floats eerily as though it is still submerged in water, though through the bits of uncovered glass you can see what looks like trapped souls swirling within, silenced by the industrial strength seal of suit and seemingly unaggravated despite their trapped position.

Boatswain wields a harpoon and SPP-1 Soviet Underwater pistol. He is eerily quiet towards others, mostly just echoing groans that all seem to carry the same voice despite the various souls held within the suits helmet. He moves with heavy steps, labored and difficult as diver suits are very heavy.

It is unkown if the man, if any man, inhabits the suit, and who the souls belong to. Presumably they are the trapped souls of the crew and it's captain, but it is unclear if the diver is still inside the suit, seeking vengeance on those who put him through such horrible, back-to-back dives despite what he had seen. He might be inhabited by some creature of the deep, acting as it's pawn in the ritual, or perhaps he is still conscious within the suit and seeks to find out why he is still alive, and what is keeping him alive for it's own reasons*
