For example the feature to bind Slowing Hex to Lady Geist's 2. so whenever it is off cooldown and you target someone with your 2, it will hit with Shex also.
Binding item cast to ability cast.

There are some effects that are tied to spells but these are very much on the smite relic, league summoners, dota active items type effect where they are typically a lower power item for the effect and how good it is is how well you use it, I dont think it adds that much complexity vs how much depth it does.

I thought of this too, but are you then unable to use the Hex by itself when it is off cooldown and your ability is not? It could definitely work if you choose between attaching an active to an ability instead of a hotkey, but that opens up for more possible active items you can use at a time, and I think the limited slots is a part of the balance (in that you can only have 4 active items at a time).

I think it would take an active slot, but you can still manually trigger it. that seems fair.
