Matchmaking is one of the worst aspects of this game. It feels outdated and obsolete, seemingly designed to retain players through sporadic dopamine hits rather than through a fair and competitive experience — which, ironically, is far more addictive. I truly hope Valve innovates in the future and develops a matchmaking system that actually promotes balance and fairness, instead of this current abomination that often feels like it's working in reverse. Out of ten matches, you might get one decent game. It's extremely frustrating, and I can completely understand why many players choose to leave. Winning rarely depends on having a well-matched team; instead, it's usually about which side has an exceptionally strong player. In the end, matchmaking boils down to either crushing your opponents or getting crushed — 90% of the time.
