Bad Matchmaking Thread

Guys to contrast the previous unwinnable ritualist game, here is this extremely ez archon game that I had.

How the fuck can you climb out of the depths of elo when low mmr players throw so hard at every opportunity?

Archon 1 rating in Oracle 5 matches. I would rather wait 30 mins for an archon game than a game that is averaged out 10 ranks above my rating.

Match ID 36331251 -
Enemy was around 60k souls ahead of us in the end, felt like own team (incl. myself) was not at all performing to the standard as the enemy team and it felt like a very unfair match from the start.

Another one - Match ID 36333323
The Ivy on the enemy team was multiple thousands souls ahead of us entire game, didn't feel like they belonged to our rank.

Found a hacker for you. The mirage with video clips. To the abrams, i hope you see this and realise
1748370479129.png 1st clip - i was purposely invi waiting to see if he shoots me through the veil and look at his accurate aim after getting the orb.
2nd clip - he has parry auto on. watch how he was taking the walker and you can't even hear the punch from holliday and just see how effortlessly he parries.
3rd clip - just simple aim locks from the walker to the holliday

Abrams spent most of the laning phase standing still looking at the shop while I did all the work. Then he spent a lot of time dying. Kelvin was the only player on my team that I'd want to play with again. This felt like a 2v6 match a lot of the time. Does Valve actually think that matchmaking algorithm is okay? I have no idea because they won't say anything. Match ID: 36342062

Entire enemy team was High oracle/Phantom, average Oracle2/3

My Entire team was low Emissary, Average Emissary 2/3, many who were just learning how to play for the first few times.
Aftergame listed both teams as Archon2, CLEARLY WRONG.

Still can't put a draft system in the game, eh? We have zero options to counterplay the multiple repositions they have on their team vs. lack of ours. Do you even play this fucking game, developers?

Matchmaking is one of the worst aspects of this game. It feels outdated and obsolete, seemingly designed to retain players through sporadic dopamine hits rather than through a fair and competitive experience — which, ironically, is far more addictive. I truly hope Valve innovates in the future and develops a matchmaking system that actually promotes balance and fairness, instead of this current abomination that often feels like it's working in reverse. Out of ten matches, you might get one decent game. It's extremely frustrating, and I can completely understand why many players choose to leave. Winning rarely depends on having a well-matched team; instead, it's usually about which side has an exceptionally strong player. In the end, matchmaking boils down to either crushing your opponents or getting crushed — 90% of the time.
