It's a REALLY barebone concept but i think it can give some idea for the futur.
I love playing with the movement of Deadlock so here my concept with a Hero that have Yoyo as a weapon and move fast on it's roller
(inspired by Bridget in Guilty Gear for the Yoyo)

I'm not good for design but i can see the Hero as a Roller skate Bar employee

thxx for reading <3

Honestly it would be cool if their weapon was a sentient Yo-yo with an eye and they'd speak in expressive gibberish (hero fully understands the gibberish)

Sadly, rollerskates only became popularized in the 80s and they technically existed before but a roller skate bar wouldn't be fitting for the time period. Maybe their movement could be based around using the yoyo's string to grapple onto things? Idk im spitballing

With this sentient Yo-yo, maybe the ult could resemble either Overwatch's Junkrat Ult (too similar to Grey Talon's ult) or something more complex like a Holliday Lasso but instead of taking the enemy with you, it simply stuns them in place and blows up if teammates don't help breaking the Yo-yo that's binding them.

I mean I think Rollerskates can slide given things like Billy's punk aesthetic being a bit ahead of the times

it can work. what's important is that the yoyo itself fits in the world.

maybe its an exorcist tool designed trap malicious souls from a safe distance, originally just used very crudely like a fishing net but then this hero got *creative* and invented all of modern yoyo tech.

this hero would be in the ritual not for the patrons, but to actually purge/liberate all the souls in the cursed apple. we've got souls in boxes, souls in jars, and nobody seems to care!
