A list of every broken Sinclair Ult [Updated to Build:21626775 in the comments]

Victor's ult was fixed, but there are ults that are actively broken as of 07:00:00 UTC.
I am testing as I write this, and it is very late. Sorry if not thorough; I am very tired

Broken Ults and how they are broken:

Unable to use abilities while ult is active

• Drifter
• Infernus
• Kelvin
• Doorman

Other:
• Warden, Wraith, and Yamato (Maybe more have this) : When copying and using their ults, Sinclair has the Assistant as an ability that they can use while casting the ult—in reality, you can't use it; it shows as active despite not being actually able to be used. My assumption is whatever is wrong slash bugged with this is what's wrong with some of the other characters
• Yamato: The "Duration On Kill" and "Heal percentage on kill" are not working

Ult is a projectile, and when it lands, it doesn't do anything:
• Vyper
• Paradox
• Holiday

I thought I was off my game, and washed when I copied their ults saw it hit and couldn't get them to proc; I was like did my aim was somehow worse, but after testing, I found out that if their ults have "no time" to travel, i.e. five-meters or below, the ult does go off "normally"


[END of bug report below is my methodology and context]

Methodology:
I did most of this testing in "Sandbox", but did have most of these issues in the actual games I played; I know sometimes the sandbox and the actual game are mismatched. All of the references I used for the ults were old VODs, some being uploaded anywhere from a little before slash after the Halloween update to yesterday night

Heroes that took me a bit of time to research, but appear to be working right:
Able to place and or use Spectral Assistant to teleport, but without access to Vexing Bolt or Rabbit Hex :

• Mina
• Billy
• Ivy
• Viscous

Unable to use any abilities while ulting:
• McGinnis
• Mo and Krill
• Shiv

I knew going in these heroes can use one or more abilities while ulting, but was unable to remember if Sinclair was also able to do so during these ults, so I went through old VOD's for like forty minutes looking through these; I could be wrong and missed something else Sinclair could use while ulting. From what it seems, those characters' ults on Sinclair work without a problem

Edited because I forgot to include one of the characters under "Ult is a projectile, and when it lands, it doesn't do anything:" out of my notes before I knocked out
 
Don't forget Haze! I don't know if it's just because you aren't applying fixation or something, but if you steal her ult it does basically nothing. Maybe 5-10% of the damage it normally does :(

Also I think McGinnis, Mo and Krill, and Shiv are working as intended. I don't think those occultists can use abilities during their ult to begin with. I think Shiv and Mo can use like an ability, but you only copy their ult not their entire kit so it makes sense you wouldn't randomly get Shiv's passive when you steal his ultimate.

That said some are straight up broken like Hollidays, which literally has a broken range right now lmao
 
Victor's ult is NOT fixed; it just doesn't happen every single time

If you copy Victor's ult, you risk getting completely broken and bugged out. You turn invisible and get disconnected from your body, basically stuck in purgatory. You can move around, but you can't interact with the game at all

When it happens:
After dying repeatedly many many many times, it seems to only happen when the timer runs out while the animation is playing; i.e., if the revival doesn't happen before the timer ends—you are fucked

What happens:
• You become invisible and stuck in a "spectator" state
• You are unable to shoot, jump, dash, or use any abilities
• The 'Shocking Reanimation' text stays stuck on the screen forever
• You can't even die to reset it

Fixes tried:
• Unstick command does nothing
• 'killme' in console doesn't work

Fixes I've heard people try (Not first hand; I read others' posts):
• Disconnecting and reconnecting slash restarting the game doesn't fix it
• Even in Street Brawl, it stays broken between rounds

Only fix that "works":
• Using admin controls to switch characters

Basically, once this hits, the match is completely unplayable

Haze is working as intended; you don't have fixation and probably don't have gun items. Haze is the worst ultimate in the game to copy

I was debating making a different post for this yesterday, but it's somewhat related; When McGinnis uses her ult it shows phantom abilities and once clicked they say that you are silenced. This also applies to Sinclair copying her ult

Replying just to say I have experienced the same issues with Sinclair Ult, it was a nasty surprise to find out mid-match
It made me very upset; this update has been genuinely amazing besides a few things that ruined my first game on:
• My FOV was forcefully changed making aiming impossible on my big ass screen
• The new troopers feel like visual clutter, and are hard to make out—making them hard to hit. The old enemy troopers being red made it so much easier to see and hit
• I would copy ults thinking I was having an off day and fucking up

I knew subconsciously something was wrong with Sinclair from my first standard game on; I hate when Sinclair gets' a change that isn't listed in a patch-note, because I can feel it, but feel gaslit by no patch confirming it T_T

• McGinnis: The same issue as before, but more bugged by not even playing the McGinnis animation; Sinclair is just kinda sittin there (Not sure if this is intended but lowkey it's funny and I like it, lol)

• Mirage: When using their ult, the "user" becomes invisible during the animation at the location they teleport to; this does not just apply to Sinclair, but also Mirage

Feedback For The New Ult Icons:
• Please up the contrast on the "Ultimate Copied" icon (i.e, Mina, Holiday, ect)

• Seven and many other characters now show a generic "Ultimate copied"; Can you bring them back, even if they are placeholders, as they look way better than the generic ult copied, as it's ugly and blocky slash too thick, and provides almost no meaningful information

• Some of the new ultimates have inconsistencies with others. (This may be intended) Some of them look wrong; i.e Dynamo's ult looks small and like it's scaled wrong, with the bar being really below the text, or Pocket's ult not having a bar

Cool thing I found:
• Sinclair stole Victor's lightning; lowkey this is such a cool glitch. Sinclair taking on characteristics of the ults they picked up in-game, and or the last ult they used, would be cool, but not something that matters at all in an early access, "alpha" game

Victor:
A cycle of wanting to pick glass out of my skin: I copy Victor’s ultimate, I die, and then my ultimate just goes on cooldown. It’s really, really frustrating

There are so many times I’m mid-fight: slowed, no ‘Vexing Bolts’ or ‘Rabbit Hex,’ just my trusty assistant. I place her down, and in my quick thinking, I go and grab Victor's ultimate. Internally, I feel relief—I can die and then teleport out... And then boom, the death countdown starts, and I just stare at my screen like :|

The fact that it doesn’t work when I copy it and goes on cooldown doesn’t reward skill or quick thinking; it just feels frustrating. Victor gets his ultimate and is able to not worry about whether or not it’s going to go off, while Sinclair has to worry about whether the ultimate is going to bug out, not copy even after you clicked on them and saw the animation play multiple times, or whether my bolt is going to go off in some random fucking direction when my assistant is out.

The (hopefully slash mostly) fixed bugs I was talking about previously:
• Both my bolts going in random directions when my assistant is out. I've had this happen sometimes recently, but not as frequently as it was before. Novemberish-December (somewhere around there) was hell. Now, it "rarely" happens, but when it does happen, it’s usually in the middle of me doing some random shit like farming, so not that much of a problem.

• The ultimate not copying, then uncopying after you click on the character thirty times. This had nothing to do with my connection, as I was playing on my closest server and had very very low ping. This issue lasted like a month or soish

Thankfully, I have not experienced those two recently; although I have not used Sinclair much this current "patch", as I was waiting for the ultimates to be fixed, since the game was lowkey unplayable earlier as Sinclair. Meaning I don’t know how the bolts feel now.

The bolt going in random directions is probably fixed by now (I hope), and having to copy the ultimate multiple times is most likely fixed, as in my memory I didn't experience it after the dev team got off break, and the January patches came in (My memory is not the best on this, so I could be wrong)

Finally, on the using ult last second, please PLEASE fix this T_T; I grab the ult, and then boom: cooldown </3 This technically applies to not just Victor, but he's where you really feel it, or Calico

Oh god... don't give me another mod idea like that...

Honestly, that would be a good idea, that way you can actually tell what ultimate he stole as well!

No!!! After the ult is used is better, because Sinclairs whole thing is being sneaky, and tricky. Making it so you know which ult he took is not a good mechanic, because one of the major thing he can do is bluff really good
 
REM ult is broke. The lights stay on your character model if you copy his ult as sinclair. If you do it multiple times the lights stack

Is it working as intended, though? According to the description of the ability, it does damage by firing YOUR gun. When Sinclair takes her ult, he doesn't actually fire his own gun, he doesn't get the burst fire. It's only one bullet at a time, when it should be two shots.

I think he's actually losing 50% of the damage output he should have when stealing her ult.

...don't get me wrong, it's still the worst ult in the game for him to copy, but I think it's genuinely bugged.

I made a bug report here about it with a video. I'm sure it's been caught before, but after researching I haven't seen anybody mention it at all.
