Hey there

Every time I search for a match I go around the city in the lobby map to parkour. I came up with a fun little trial that I do each time I am waiting for a match to be found. So here it goes.

End goal: reach the top of this spire.

Conditions:
You start with no items. Your starting point is where the glowing pegions stay just outside the window:
(To get here, press f7, use "noclip" command, and turn it off by executing the command again once you're here. For convenience, you can do a bind to use this command. In my case it's "bind v noclip" to bind noclip command to turn it on/off.)

You can't buy any items until certain checkpoints.
You may play any hero, but can't use any of their abilities. If the hero you play has 2 stamina bars, you may buy Extra Stamina.
Use heavy melees, edge boosts and corner jumps. In some locations they will certainly make your life easier.

Once you cross this red line, you must buy Stamina Mastery:

(In other words, these two buildings. Be careful, the one in the middle has no collisions.)
Next, this transparent wall over here. It has collisions but doesn't reach all the way up. Once you cross it, you may buy and use Majestic Leap once:

You may use it only once until your next checkpoint. You may use majestic leap only on checkpoints. You are also not allowed to go back.

Finally, Checkpoint 1: Sell Stamina Mastery, buy Warp Stone.
Checkpoint 2: Buy Stamina Mastery. But if you want to keep it a bit difficult, play as Holliday or any other character with 2 stamina bars and DON'T buy Stamina Mastery. It's doable, but still kinda hard.

Checkpoint 2 leads to the final building.

Good luck and have fun!

Usually when I search for a match I end up smoking a cigarette, or patting my cat... Or somethin!

Yeah having a fun run across the city is probably for the best to practice your movement before you start playing. That's just something I came up with while waiting.

Now I'm doing that run each time at a time limit. Managed to start doing better corner & edge jumps, I also understand how exactly corner jumps work. Figured that they work when your character "slides" on the edge of a world object. In old Source games you can stand on 1 inch (smallest possible dimension) of a solid surface and you'll be fine. In Deadlock your player model has to stand on a squared surface, otherwise you start sliding off. It is still possible to stand on a pixel, but only as long as your character doesn't touch any walls around it.

It's fun getting up here every time btw:
