10+ minute queue times from South Africa

I play from South Africa. The playerbase here is small so I usually find EU games. The problem is that my queues are extremely long, averaging 10-12 minutes. I suspect that the matchmaker is spending 10 minutes looking for an SA game, then gives up and puts me on EU. I think so because when I play with my EU duo we get games in less than a minute. I have found no console commands that fix this.

Thanks @pblelliott for making noise about this.

- Devs please shorten time to 3-4 minutes local queue search before switching to EU (closest).

The South Africa 10 minute queue change was made by Yoshi in late 2024. I sent him a DM yesterday.
The local matchingmaking is great, when there's players.

Having SA servers are already a blessing but 1/4 of my daily matches are maybe local. Waiting 10-11 minutes each time is painful.

Been having the same issues, every queue is a 10+ wait just to get put into a eu server after the wait, having to wait 10+ mins in the lobby per game is honestly soul draining

Confirmed temporary work around:

1. Download CS2 Server Picker from Github.
2. Only block the South African server (when less SA players are active).
   
   This way, the game skips SA server search (10 mins) and quickly (3-5 mins) finds the closest server and available game. No more 10-14min searches.
