1% FPS Drops When Pressing Keyboard or Mouse - Micro Stuttering/Freezing/Lag

I've been experiencing a frustrating issue where pressing any key on the keyboard or clicking the mouse causes significant stuttering and FPS drops. For example, if my game is running at 1% FPS stability, it will suddenly drop to around 50-100 FPS the moment I press a key.

I noticed this when I pressed Alt+R to open the NVIDIA overlay with performance stats. I have the 99% FPS displayed there, and I saw sudden drops from 200 FPS down to 50-100 FPS when I pressed the keys. I’m also experiencing the same issue in CS2.

I’ve attached a video showing the FPS graph from RivaTuner, where you can clearly see the spikes whenever I interact with the keyboard or mouse.

Has anyone else encountered a similar issue, or is this normal?

UPDATE:

Fixed! The FPS drops when pressing keys or clicking the mouse were resolved by:

  1. Disabling fullscreen optimizations on the Deadlock executable.
  2. Running the game directly from the desktop instead of launching it through Steam.

After this, my FPS is completely stable, even during input.
