Why does ricochet have way more than 2 bounces? (BUG)

I was wondering why a Graves completely stomped us in a late game play (they got to 80k souls, not a joke, and the rest of their team had 30-40k). They blew up completely after buying ricochet. For reasons I cannot explain, their ricochet bounced to 5-6 targets or more. This is not what the item description says it should do (claims only 2). No, they didn't also get tesla bullets or something. See screenshots.
Can anyone explain this bug? (in the screencap, the ricochet is bouncing to 5 additional targets, total 6 mobs were hit.) Match #: 69035688 as shown in the screenshot.
Ricochet let Graves win this game and I don't like that very much because she can't miss with her bullets and it fed her massive lifesteal gains.

Graves fires twice by default with maxed 3. It's simply ricochets 2x3

just another normal interaction on the mile-long list of reasons that ricochet should just be removed.
