Why am I getting banned for no reason EVEN WHEN I RECONNECT TO MATCH ???

this is getting ridiculous! Fix your game, this does not look good! Just slapping people with 1 - 5 day bans for something happening ON THE GAME'S END isn't going to fix the issue! I don't appreciate being put in a corner and told I can't play because an error happened. I have managed to reconnect BACK to the match and play, even after Steam refuses to verify game files for like 5 - 6 minutes, and STILL win the game! I get back to the menu only to find out I've been banned for a day. I'm so disappointed right now.

I would certainly appreciate having this needless restriction removed so I can resume making and creating content for your game.
 
Just searched through this forum and found MANY OTHER USERS are having the same issue. Lol time to go back to Rivals or something, this is such a bad look for Valve and Deadlock's growth as a whole. I would like to see some effort put forth to solving this issue MANY OTHER USERS are having.

its an alpha game theres not such things as bad look. you can go to marvel rivals and its fine.
 
UPDATE:1767433197102.pngI have completed the 8 Low Priority wins after the horrid 5-Day ban ended, and surprisingly didn't suffer any crashes! THANK GOD. I did reinstall my drivers feeling I was out of options, apparently it got results. TRY REINSTALLING YOUR DRIVERS if you're suffering from those dreadful .vpk file corruptions.
 
WELL. I'm pissed, 2nd game into normal matchmaking and the midtown.vpk file CORRUPTED AGAINNNNNNNN... This is so depressing.
 
ANOTHER 1-DAY BAN ONNN TOOOPPPPP OFFFF another 8 games in Low Priority? DEVS, RESPOND, DO SOMETHING, FIX THIS GARBAGE BUG???
 
I find it very suspicious that only after 15 games and only 2 back into normal matchmaking my game is being crashed. It's almost like they specifically don't want certain people playing the game based off some hidden variables or information.
 
do you have mods installed? there were other people in this bug reports that were having the same issue, you may take a look if someone got it fixed. Also it seems the temporary fix is to ask someone to give you their PAK file that you have corrupted
 
and also how Steam JUST FLAT OUT REFUSES to verify game files for like 7 minutes... THIS SPECIFIC ISSUE has been occurring for OVER A YEAR.

these corruptions are unrelated to mods.
 
1768331356159.pngI have completed the 2025 Winter Challenge,. My conclusory advice for preventing the bug is to reinstall your graphics drivers. (This could've helped prevent the bug, but I cannot say 100% for sure, as other users still have it occur.) OPEN DEADLOCK FIRST, NOTHING ELSE, I tended to open discord and OBS after I was already in a match. We can certainly zero in on this bug being RAM RELATED. Be careful.

What GPU brand are you using? I got banned too a few times in a row for no reason because the server kicked me out of the game with no option to reconnect, only to abandon in order to be able to queue again only to find out I was banned and put in low prio several times. I have never found out what was causing that issue. I made a thread back then, you can see it on my profile. If you are right regarding GPU drivers and if it helps I was on AMD GPU. I switched to NVidia at some point and it's been more than 6 months since I had any issues whatsoever regarding this problem.
 
So. A few things. Old Gods New Blood has removed the pre-game lobby, so disconnects that happen during this new hero loading screen seem to be not met with such harshness. If a VPK corruption happens mid-game DO NOT TRY TO VERIFY, simply launch Deadlock through the desktop to reconnect. It's that simple now I guess? No more waiting for steam to finish picking its nose for 10 minutes... I just pinned deadlock to my taskbar and when it does the "do". I just relaunch the game without steam's brainfarts getting in the way. ALSO, if the vpk corruption happens mid game, and keeps reoccurring within seconds of reconnecting, you are BEST OFF just restarting your computer. You have enough time to do so, trust me... Do not even touch steam, just close everything, restart your computer, then reopen deadlock. NO MORE VERIFYING. This 99 - 100% works.
 
midtown.vpk / pak01.vpk / and hideout.vpk seem to fix themselves if you simply restart your computer. DO NOT VERIFY AND WASTE TIME, your team needs you!

This does not work in my case. Game still refuses to verify for awhile and restarting has no chages
