I want to suggest a hero concept that focuses on accessibility without removing skill or depth from the game.
Basically the core idea is a character whose mobility is based around a jetpack with a fuel bar (Like how Drogoz works in the game Paladins.). By holding jump, the character ascends and consumes a fuel bar (Fuel Bar Increases with stamina). The goal is to offer a more intuitive form of vertical movement for players who either struggle with, or simply don’t enjoy, or don't want to do advanced movement tech.
Sometimes I just want to focus on aiming, positioning, and decision-making instead of having to constantly execute difficult movement tech just to survive the first few minutes of a match. I think a hero like this could widen the game’s accessibility while still fitting into a competitive environment.
One of the big benefits of a hero like this is how it could interact with the current meta. An Aerial jetpack based character would naturally be good at contesting flying or high-mobility heroes like Mina, Talon, or Vindicta, without needing high-level movement execution.
This wouldn’t be a straight upgrade over existing movement. To keep things fair, the character wouldn’t be able to perform the same advanced techs that other heroes can. Instead, the skill expression comes from fuel management and positioning. The character would still have a dodge ability, using the jetpack as a short boost (no fuel consumption) but would not be able to double jump, corner boost and all the prob intended and not intended movement tech. Having the possiblity of travelling tru the map really fast but at the cost of not having a easy escape if they do so.
Visually, the jetpack could be integrated into the wheelchair or similar mobility device. That choice isn’t meant as a joke or gimmick, but as a way to clearly communicate the character’s movement style while also adding more diversity to the roster. The theme itself could go in a lot of directions, like a mad scientist using tons of gadgets, , an engineer related to McGinnis, or even just a little girl who drops explosive teddy bears on people in a jet pack or a brain jair in a wheelchair the possibilities are endless but the mechanic remains the same.
Assuming its the Mad Scientists route, His melee could be a Flamethrower, a Crane-Slap that its attached to the wheelchair, or smth like a Spring-Loaded Power Fist that he uses.
