Warframe modding reminds me a lot of deadlock items, range and duration are identical parameters, powerstrength is spirit power and efficiency would equate to cooldown (based on resource meter than internal cooldowns).
Min-maxing builds have often relied on these corrupted mods, which have one downside and one upside to either pump stats that are preferable, or actually lower stats to result in a desired effect (nova for example could speed enemies up with negative strength is the most famous example, reworked into base kit because it was that useful).
I think there's a lot of potential for these mods to be reflected in deadlock. Things that come to mind would be something like shrinking kelvins dome to isolate specific players, reducing duration or range on spells to cast them more often and vice versa. You could even imbue them on specific abilities.
Examples:
Cone of concentration: Imbue an ability. Decrease ability range by 40 percent, but increase ability duration by 60 percent. (Can only be imbued on abilities modifiable with range).
Spirit scatter: Increase the range of all non-crowd control spells by 40 percent, but decrease their damage by 30 percent (only affects damaging abilities).
Maelstrom merchant: Decrease damage dealt, ability range (-10), duration(-12) and Increase spell cooldowns (-5) - Increase the potency of all active items (duration, range, cooldown) by double the amount.
Concussive crash: Decrease crowd control duration by 30 percent, however crowd control spells do 60 percent more damage and instead apply a lingering slow.
It's similar to the cursed mod ideas but I think taking inspiration from warframe would be a great idea.
