"Vera" - Dryad

Vera

Vera leans towards support playstyle; Able to reduce enemy damage output with her passive, grant barrier and replicate buffs with an ally, root singular enemies as well as extend buff durations while shortening debuff durations and denying area with her ultimate.

Background
"Vera has always had a love for nature and plants. She runs a small plant store in New York buying, growing and selling exotic plants from around the world. Her affinity for plants isn't just a hobby, it's her life; Vera is a dryad bonded with an enchanted tree which has been planted and hidden in New Jersey for decades. This has been the source of her power to control plants and is also what keeps her alive; If the tree was to be destroyed, she herself would die along with it."

"For the past fifteen years, her tree has been under a threat by Fairfax Industries due to excessive disposal of spiritual waste and aggressive expansion towards the area her tree resides in. For now she has been able to stave off any troublemakers by herself, but hearing rumors of new and "powerful" weapons developed by Fairfax's R&D department, she fears her powers may not be enough to keep them away for long and Fairfax quite definitely won't be negotiating."

Some relations with the current characters;
McGinnis; Vera hates McGinnis to the fullest extent for obvious reasons.
Mo & Krill; Vera buys pottery from Mo & Krill. Vera adores Mo's pottery.
Kelvin; Kelvin has gifted few exotic plants to Vera in the past, including Ixian plants.
Viscous; Viscous loves the plants Vera has because it reminds him of his home.

Primary - Homegrown Thorn Whip
A new and unique "Latch on" type of primary weapon.

It's a little similar to Graves' primary, though doesn't have 100% auto-aim and has slightly longer range. You'll first need to hit an initial shot which will need aiming. When hit, the weapon will deal a small burst of weapon damage and latch onto the enemy hit where it will then continually damage them for as long as you have ammo, line of sight, range and have a concept of the enemy direction (Little exaggeration; as much aiming as Graves)

Fire rate buffs increase the speed at which the whip damages while it is latched.

Express Shot is not available. Don't think anyone will be bothered by it anyway.

Tapping the primary fire works well for maximizing weapon damage (if you can hit consistently), while holding it works well when proccing debuffs such as Vera's passive.

Ability 1 - Enchanted Vines
Attach a vine to an ally in line of sight to grant both of you move speed and barrier. Replicate non-ultimate buffs between each other. Requires ally to be in line of sight and range to replicate buffs.
If your barrier is destroyed, your replicated buffs are removed immediately.

Can be casted without allies. Barrier can only be granted to 1 ally per cast.
Receive only 50% of the bonuses provided by replicated buffs.

(T1) +20% fire rate for you and attached ally.
(T2) +1.0x barrier spirit scaling, -20s cooldown
(T3) +7s duration, +35% replicated buff duration.

  • 18m attachment range
  • 45s cooldown
  • 100 barrier
    • 1.0 spirit scaling
  • +3m/s move speed
  • 4s attach duration
  • 30% Replicated buff duration

Ability 2 - South Ixian Mangler Vine
Summon a fast growing vine from any surface, impaling any enemy hit dealing spirit damage and rooting them into the air. Enemies are slowed after root duration ends.

(T1) -10% bullet resist on impaled enemies for 4s.
(T2) -20% move speed, +2m Width range
(T3) +40 spirit damage, -14s cooldown, enables and grants +1 charge.

  • 30s cooldown
  • 0.3s strike delay
  • 60 spirit damage
    • 1.0x spirit scaling
  • 12m Reach range
  • 2.5m Width range
  • 40m cast range
  • 1s root duration
  • -15% move speed
  • 4s Slow duration
Can only hit 1 enemy within its range.

Ability 3 - Infestation
Dealing damage with your abilities and primary builds Infested debuff. Enemies Infested have reduced damage output and release spores which deal spirit damage around them.
Dealing damage with primary or abilities extends the duration. The spores will linger in the air for 1 second.

(T1) -10% move speed on infested enemies.
(T2) +3s max duration, +10% damage penalty.
(T3) Enemies taking damage from the spores of another build up Infested
  • 3s base duration
  • 3s max duration
  • 12 spirit damage per second
    • 0.5x spirit scaling
  • 5m spore radius
  • -10% damage penalty
Similar to Infernus' burn, but more utility and less damage.
Note for T3, the passive can extend the duration without the T3. T3 is required to apply the debuff.
If 2 people with the debuff stand together the debuff will simply not go away as they will be constantly extending the duration of the other.

Ability 4 - North Ixian Ant Eater
Summon an enormous two headed carnivorous plant at target location which attacks enemies in range dealing spirit damage.
When the plant hits an enemy, it releases a pulse which shortens debuff and extends buff durations of all allies around it.

(T1) Apply -15% move speed when in range.
(T2) +8m range, +15% spirit lifesteal
(T3) -20s cooldown, +10% max buff duration, enemies entering attack range are tethered for 1.25s.
  • 120s cooldown
  • 2s delay (before the plant begins to attack)
  • 40m cast range
  • 9m attack range
  • 17m pulse range
  • 1.5 attacks per second
  • 6s duration
  • 50 spirit damage per attack
    • 0.9x spirit scaling
  • 0.7s Buff extension per enemy
  • 1s Debuff shorten per enemy
  • +20% max buff duration
Only targets 2 enemies at once, but can hit multiple with a single bite if enemies are close together. The pulse effect scales with enemies hit, so hitting the entire team with single bite shortens debuffs by 6s as example.
Prioritises attacking enemies you have attacked.

The plant size grows with range, being about the size of a Walker on T2 with Greater Expansion.

Max buff duration is capped at +30%
