I'm not sure what exactly causes it, since I was not able to replicate it in the lobby but ingame every player reported that their game lagged whenever I as Venator pressed 2.
Yup, happened to me last night, whole lobby game froze for a full second when he got a wall stun. It didnt help that it was an echo shard build, so it was constant freezes. This has happened to me playing as Venator as well, something about getting the wall stun seems to freeze the whole game.

the lag occurs right before the shot.
My assumption would be that just too many things need to happen on the same tick as the game needs to determine whether the hit entities are within the wall stun range, gutshot t3 just aggravates the issue since it has the same condition.
for context, an example of when you can see this issue often: abilities that lock you in an animation immune to knockback (dash-like animations), like abrams charge, shiv ult or 2, apollo 3, silver 3 and etc., all need to know whether the entity is within wall stun range or not the very moment they are hit by gutshot to determine if the knockback and hence the stun will occur or not, if they are not within the range, knockback is fully ignored.
I do like this interaction since it seems fair to both sides - venator cant outright knockback everyone, but they also cant become fully immune to gutshot, so i hope either I'm wrong or you have a fix for this
