I was watching some Paradox gameplay when I had an idea for a hero whose ultimate allows them to combine two of their normal abilities into one, with reduced numbers to counteract added utility. To explain, I will use Paradox as a template of sorts.
Not to suggest that Paradox should receive this change in a million years, but for conversation sake, if she were to have this ultimate:
Carbine combines with time bomb, loading the bomb into the carbine. If carbine hits an enemy hero, the time bomb will be stuck to them. Missing a hero will place a normal time bomb on whatever surface it impacted. Reduced base damage for more guaranteed hits. (would not apply two bombs with express shot, possibly be affected by falloff at time of firing.)
Carbine combines with time wall, causing struck terrain or hero to have a spherical time wall attached. As a struck hero could never touch the time wall to take damage or silence, the application of the sphere would instantly apply the silence for a reduced duration.
Time bomb combines with time wall to cause a circular time wall around the circumference of the time bomb. Wall would expand if you have that part of the bomb unlocked.
At least on Paradox, I fear such a concept would be polarizing, either niche and mostly useless or far too strong.
As for an actual character concept, I imagine a crotchety, older fellow, an inventor of electrical or clockwork devices.
Totally blanking on what abilities he would actually have to combine using the ultimate. Only a summoned mechanical foot soldier comes to mind, but something tells me it would be annoying to play and moreso to program a way to control them or have good enough pathfinding.
