Two copies of an item in Street brawl

When upgrading spirit and bullet lifesteal into leech I was given an additional item as it usually does, but this time it gave me TWO copies of a 1600 item instead of a 3200 item. I'm not positive, but if I had to guess, it might be because bullet lifesteal was also an additional item given to me when upgrading something else.
