I think it would add another dimension to hero abilities if there was a hero that could specialize in playing around troopers. some of my general ideas:
- Hero ult transforms troopers into seeking missiles, animals, super-troopers, etc. to push lane and/or seek out enemy players directly
- basic hero abilities could buff, heal, or multiply troopers
- hero could turn enemy troopers to their own side/steal enemy troopers
- hero could alter trooper behavior - i.e. make their troopers seek out camps/sinners/objectives in other lanes on the opposing side of the map
- hero could change the weapon of one trooper (give it a machine gun)
- ult could also be making the guardians, walkers, patrons, etc. change somehow (buffs, heals, new attacks, explode/sacrifice them to deal insane damage to enemies around them -- imagine destroying your own team's objective in order to get a huge group kill to go midboss)
- hero could maybe specialize somehow in building up massive trooper waves by stalling their advancement somehow (imagine 50 buffed enemy troopers hurtling towards you while the player who made it possible is nowhere near the actual fight; it'd be a super fun thing to monitor on the minimap during games).
- hero ability combines troopers into one big trooper to eat a bunch of objective/guardian/walker/patron damage
- hero ability makes trooper soul orbs harder to hit for enemy players somehow (make them sway, blink, shift position, etc.)
