Active item which throws a projectile that has the effect of a parry. Could be used to defend your stunned teammate from getting beaten, or for buff/rejuv contesting.


So how flawed is this idea?

Very, since it takes away a lot of the risk that currently contesting objectives with parry entails.

If you're gonna allow a single button to potentially flip objectives, it has to have some sort of risk tied to it. Currently, that risk involves going into melee range where you can get stunned/burst down. A ranged parry would eliminate that risk and make contesting objectives incredibly safe.

I think it depends on the type of interaction with the players/targets. If item shoots a sticky projectile that automatically parries any melee attack in area, then this is too OP, since it does not require any skills or tactics. Otherwise, it won't matter, as it would be difficult to get in time with a one-shot parry projectile.
