(This is my first Deadlock character that I've made. I have a few more I intend to post across the next few days (limiting myself to one per day as to not spam the forum lol). As such certain numbers, abilities, or features might need outside balancing to be more fair in the game environment. Thoughts regarding that and the character itself are welcome!)
Lore:
Originally a wannabe cowboy, Vega's dream has become a walking nightmare. During a night of desperation, Vega took on a curse that granted him the power to defend his village from an attacking monster. But the curse only seems to attract more and more monsters as time goes by. So he left home and went in search of a being powerful enough to rid him of his burden. Now he heads to the Cursed Apple to complete the ritual, and be able to rest his head under his own roof once more.
Playstyle:
Vega is a great roamer and pick hero. His superior mobility and displacement tools allow him to get in and out of a fight, and harass anyone out of position or in the backlines. This leads to him being very squishy, and not having the sustain to continue fighting against other heroes like Abrams or Mo&Krill.
Vega works best when he's given the chance to duel or pick someone off. While everyone else is teamfighting, Vega can sneak behind and take out that troublesome support or a retreating foe. But if he's forced to frontline, don't expect much.
Weapon and Abilities!
- Gun: Big Iron
A wild-western style 6 shot revolver. Good damage at all ranges, but it won't shred like Haze's or Venator's guns without some serious weapon investment and a lot of skill. Vega picked it off a bandit he defeated one time and has used it since.
- 1. Skeletal Shot:

Load a skeletal shot into your revolver, causing the next shot fired to deal Spirit Damage, and inflict healing reduction. If you kill a starget with Skeletal Shot, you gain permanent bonus damage on Skeletal Shot.
t1: +4s Healing Reduction Duration
t2: +100 Damage
t3: On Kill: Reduce the cooldowns of all your abilities by 7s
Skeletal Shot is supposed to serve as Vega's big scaling damage ability. It rewards good aim and timing with an easy healing reduction and increasing damage. It can be used as a finisher, or as a way to inflict debuffs from a distance depending on your playstyle.
- 2. Hotfoot!:

Start sprinting at your max Sprint Speed, gaining Bullet Evasion and Slow Resistance while you do so. You may also jump, and gain increased jump height. You cannot lose Sprint Speed from entering or exiting combat during this time.
t1: +1 Charge and -16s Cooldown
t2: +15% Slow Resistance and +10% Bullet Evasion Chance
t3: On Use: Gain +350 Barrier (Scales with Spirit Power)
Hotfoot! is Vega's mobility tool and allows him to play aggressively, putting himself deep in enemy camps without fear of death. Though it is only a mobility tool. Unlike Infernus' Flame Dash or Shiv's Slice and Dice, there is no damage element to Hotfoot!
- 3. Bone Boomerang:

Fling a bone boomerang in front of you, dealing Spirit Damage and Displacing enemies it hits. Bone Boomerangs will return to you after being thrown, hitting anything in it's path. A hit targe cannot be Displaced by the same Boomerang twice.
t1: +70 Spirit Damage
t2: +2 Charges
t3: Bone Boomerangs now ricochet to nearby targets before coming back
Bone Boomerang gives Vega a great chase tool. Halting hit enemies' momentum with displacement can sometimes be the difference between almost getting a kill, and sending someone packing to the respawn timer. Though I figured the return aspect might be a bit too much (especially if multiple are thrown at one time), so any given boomerang can only displace an enemy once per hit (like how Lightning Scroll works).
- 4. Dead Man's Hand:

Call upon your curse to summon a large skeletal hand from the ground. Enemies in it's area will be slowed and eventually grabbed. Grabbed enemies cannot use their abilities or be healed. At the end of the duration the hand sinks into the ground, dealing massive Spirit Damage to grabbed enemies.

Dead Man's Hand manifests the curse to bring Vega's foes down a notch, or two. It punishes grouping enemies, which will force his foes to split up, making Vega's job easier overall. This also gives Vega a hint of teamfight potential, so he's not useless when the team wants to go for midboss or an objective.
Misc:
Vega's hitbox/size would be like Celeste's. Perhaps a bit wider thanks to his serape. His headshot hitbox might be larger than usual thanks to his hat. For stats I'd imagine he's on the squishier side, with a faster base movement speed and sprint speed to make up for it. I'd think most builds would either lean towards debuffs and Spirit Damage (using Rapid Recharge/Greater Expansion and maxxing Bone Boomerang/Skeletal Shot) or go full roamer and grab items like Enduring Speed and Stalker to dive someone and get out as quickly as possible.
