I'm worried this idea may not work after learning Alec Baldwin played the character in a 90's movie... it was quite devastating to learn this during research. If nothing else, I hope it provides some interesting source material!
From 1932 to 1954, there was a radio drama called The Shadow. The Shadow could 'clouds mens' minds to make himself invisible'. I grew up in an old school family and got to listen to a lot of the show. Drawing inspiration from this classic, I'd be interested to see the renegade that inspired Batman honored in Deadlock. Off the top of my head, he could have:
-A skillshot that makes him invisible to hit enemies
-Something, possibly an ultimate, that turns on friendly fire for enemies he is invisible to
-An ability similar to REMs where he jumps into any shadow while still assisting in combat. Maybe he could damage enemies he is invisible to while he is a shadow? This could also give a large character access to the small vents
-Some kind of DoT effect while in an enemy shadow, building on the above idea. Possibly a heal while in a friendly shadow. These would likely require some way to boot The Shadow from shadows, lest he uncounterable
The Shadow seems like he would be difficult to balance, but would be quite fun to play! I thought it was too fun not to share. Apologies, this is not flushed out at all, but I wanted to help such a great game in any way I could
