As the title says, this might sound like witch hunting, but it’s not. I’m posting this because something is seriously wrong.
My friends and I, Ascendant 3, just played against the current rank 52 Wraith player. As I was typing this post, he moved up to rank 37. He was blatantly cheating. This isn’t about calling out someone who’s just better. The stats and gameplay speak for themselves.
He has around 200 games with a 95% win rate, 70% accuracy, and a 30% headshot rate, along with what looks like auto parry. At the same time, his movement and overall mechanics are average at best. The gameplay doesn’t match the stats. This is not just a good player.
He was also duoing with a Haze only player on a brand new Steam profile with about 20 games. A pattern we noticed is that they frequently duo with other accounts that look just as suspicious.
I understand the subreddit rules do not allow posting Steam IDs, which makes it harder to provide direct proof, but I can share match IDs. The matches in question are 61769672 and 61733642, 61752924. If you watch them, the cheating is extremely obvious.
What is happening is they are boosting new accounts by duoing, staying in lower ranks while still gaining points in Eternus 6 and climbing. The current ladder is full of accounts like this.
For a game that is still in closed beta, this is a very bad sign for its future. If this is not addressed quickly, it will seriously hurt the competitive integrity of the game before it even fully launches. We all know how some Valve games have ended up being known for being infested with cheaters and becoming frustrating or unplayable. I do not want this game to turn into something like CS:GO or TF2 in that regard.
The worst part is that these are only the obvious cheaters. If someone can be this blatant and still climb to high ranks, imagine how many others are cheating in more subtle ways and going completely unnoticed. Those are the players who slowly ruin the ladder without anyone being able to clearly prove it. If subtle cheating becomes normalized this early, it will damage the competitive scene long term and push legitimate players away.
I apologize for using ChatGPT to help write this, but my English is not very strong and I wanted to explain the situation clearly.
