Stable 130 ping on OCE when it used to be 38

Hey,

is anyone else getting high stable ping in the last 4 days on the OCE server? It is now permanently at 130 when it was normally at 35
every time I open up deadlock it defaults to the European server, and I have to use citadel_region_override 5 to switch back to OCE, which does not fix my ping issue
Every other multiplayer game I play has 35-40 ping, its only deadlock that is giving me issues.

Cheers

Edit - I can see Sydney (syd) servers with 33 ping and Singapore (sgp) servers with 131 ping when I use the net_print_sdr_ping_times command in console. Does anyone know of a way to force it to connect to sydney servers only? or even just setting a ping limit!

Just started playing the game, all of my friends in the same city get anywhere from 20-40ms ping and then i have anywhere from 100-160 ping, only in deadlock too btw. my internet is nearly flawless in any other game except this one for no apparent reaon and it irks me. even went as far as hardwiring my ethernet to the modem and it still have over 100 ping

I had another post about this one and did some investigating myself. let me save you the time of wondering whats wrong. its telstra.
My ping just fixed itself today after about a week but im pretty sure it has to do with telstra doing somthing on their end. it should fix itself in a bit but you can contact your net provider and quiz them about if telstra has said anything or if somthing can be done.

a test that worked for me, launch another game like tf2 or dota 2 and check the ping on them, should be the same as deadlock. test another game real quick to confirm your ping is stable (like OW or somthing). try using your phone as a hotspot for a minute. launch deadlock and start a private botmatch to check ping. i got much less ping on my mobile network... some how.

anyways the mobile networks are different enough from the net that i didnt get the issue. if your getting normal ping on your hotspot, it means its your netprovider/telstra is having a some issues. nothing to do but wait.

I fixed mine a while ago. not sure if it was me specifically or if it was my net provider but i think it was mainly me.

Here's what id recommend doing to resolve the issue.
i used PingPlotter Free. you can download it and do the whole unzip set up thing ez. what it dose is take an IP and show you every connection your computer makes from your PC to that location. as an example, mine shows me my router, the local network hub, a Telstra hub, my providers hub, and then a few more Telstra and network hubs before arriving at the destination. i use YouTube as a base test. you can just type www.youtube.com and it will track jumps from and to it. and importantly it shows ping, packet loss, and the exact point at which the ping is coming from.

Run some tests and get an idea of what your internet looks like over a few minutes and if your router is having issues. checking the router here can rule out allot of other problems.

Now i dont know for your exact situation, but for me, the place i found my deadlock/valve server ping was a telstra hub in sydney.
the specific IP is one i got from scouring for this same issue on CSGO forum's. I dont play it but because it was universally valve related, i figured the CSGO community would be all over it.

The IP i tested was 138.217.208.158
Should be named twi4232752.lnk.telstra.net

I found pretty easily i was getting a steady 90 ping from this exact jump and it matched perfectly with my deadlock ping. I dont think this is the aus valve server but i think its a jump it uses pretty regularly.

If you can locate the ping then fixing it is uhhh not 100% but not impossible. Legit i just sat with ping plotter running while tracking that exact IP for a few hours and then it kinda just stopped and never came back. not sure if me just observing the ping made someone fix it but i was happy anyways.

TBH id contact your net provider. let them know your getting trash connection to a particular IP and they need to sort it out. if its telstra server like it was for me then they can usually pester telstra enough until they fix it or they can do some magic networking to fix it. networking isnt my specialty here but i did have the problem and then i didn't. this is what i did leading up to the fix so i hope this helps in some way.

Could be a provider thing aswell. i recently switched from IInet to Leaptel and am having MUCH better connection, consistency, and support. Not always an option for everyone but a new provider could honestly help allot.

Anyways, best of luck and god speed.
