First, some preamble. Skip if you only care about the item:
Spirit Strike, at least on melee builds, is one of the better scaling 500 soul items. This is because of its Spirit Resist Reduction, which is an effect that scales well into later stages of the game. That being said, it still starts to fall off as you reach the mid to late game, and it becomes increasingly difficult for many characters to justify dedicating an entire slot to it as opposed to a more expensive but more valuable Spirit item.
Melee combat actually has a lot more depth than some players give it credit for, such as through parry-baiting and melee-baiting, so I think it's important for it to be able to scale into later stages of the game. An upgrade to Spirit Strike, however, also allows us to push melee builds in a way that isn't as beneficial to characters like Abrams because of how those characters care less about the Spirit stat, meaning we can also diversify melee builds with this and create more potential for a wider variety of characters to make investments in a specific melee item without going all-in.
Spirit Snatch:
Stat Bonuses:
Passive (6.5s Cooldown):
When you perform a Light or Heavy Melee attack against a hero, deal extra Spirit Damage with the attack. This reduces the target's Spirit Resist and temporarily steals Spirit Power from the target. Additional hits from this ability reset the duration for previously stolen Spirit Power from that target.
