Spending hours waiting to find a match in South Africa

Cool that we have the option to play on South African servers. But for the last 4-5 days I have had to wait for anything from 30 minutes to over an hour to find a match. It says I'm on the Europe region, but I have a feeling it keeps searching for the closest server and since I'm in South Africa that means I don't find matches.

Please can this be looked into and fixed? I would rather play at 160+ ping than not be able to play at all. At least fix it so that we can select the region we want to search in. Until there are more players in South Africa forcing us to play on SA servers is not good. If I have to wait 15+ minutes for a match then I likely just won't play the game.

Valve got me hooked and now they won't let me get my fix.
 
I, too, have been struggling with queue times recently.
When the local servers were first properly available last week it was great, but since Monday I've started up the game a couple times and not been able to find a game, so gave up. Not that I've found none, but it's been painful.

EDIT: While it's great we have local servers, it'd be better if we were able to change regions if those servers are down

Yeah. It's made the game unplayable for the SA region. Nobody wants to wait this long to find a match. I tried again last night and spent almost 30 minutes queueing. It's maddening. Many people say using a VPN gets them connected to EU servers in seconds, but I don't want to pay for a VPN just to play Deadlock. They should fix it so you can choose to play either SA or EU and deal with higher ping.

This doesn't work anymore
 
Queue times are getting out of hand, yesterday i was in queue from 9am to 12:55 pm, then when ranked play started. Queued for 20 minutes to find a game. It shouldn't be that long guys.

i do not think that you not getting a game cause you only searching SA cause you can see our active our community is in DC, i feel the MMR is all over the place and we not able to get games cause it wont match bronze rating against a gold or platinum , maybe the MMR grouping needs to be broadened in SA(ZA) so we can find some sort of games. BUT then people are going to say no this is unfair, but to be fair we not even getting games after searching ranked for 3 hours.
i havent looked for normal games since ranked has come out so im not sure if that is still working fine.
 
I used to get Casual matches on South Africa servers in 30 seconds to maybe 3 minutes MAX. They recently changed something (which is weird to do for Casual MM, keep stricter MM to ranked) that made search times insane. 30-60min and sometimes longer.

Doesn't do anything. Match making still takes 30+ even if we try to change region to EU.

Yoshi posted in the Discord yesterday that they made a change to how MM works for ZA players

If you q for 10 mins and dont find a game on SA servers, they switch you to EU

If its not working, he asked that people DM him here on the forum
