Slowing Hex Not Affecting Apollo's Riposte

To directly quote Riposte's description:
"On a successful deflection, briefly become invulnerable, before performing a dash forward that stuns an enemy and reduces their Melee Resist."

A skill that lets you do a dash forward should be blocked by Slowing Hex.

I don't agree. Not because I don't see your point but because the skill itself is not a movement ability but rather a parry that turns into a dash-stun if successful. Without the parry it is just a swirl in front of apollo that does not move the character at all.

There is also the fact that slowing hex already disables all the other abilities so shutting down a hero completely with a 1600 souls item seems ridiculous.

Originally only his 3 and ult were affected by sh. They added his one to be blocked by slowing hex but they did not add his 2, so probably very much intentional decision.

My counter: Slowing Hex disables Bounce Pad, which is also not a movement ability. If you don't step on the pad, you aren't moved.

It's a consistency thing. His 2 moves him a very far distance, it should be prevented by the item that prevents that sort of thing. Saying he should have an exception because it would shut his kit entirely down is like saying Haze should be able to shoot through Metal Skin- the item is designed to be able to prevent what he does.

Buy knockdown, really good for his ult too anyway since it stops it if it lands. Just got to keep an eye on him.

Good points though I would say that the comparison is not the best since the jumppad is only for movement (and dmg). Apollo's 2 being a skillshot is likely one of the few ways to make a parry+stun ability not op.

The difference between slowing hex and metal skin is that you aren't going to lose agency of your character. When someone buys metal skin you can still decide to not pursue, reload, use abilities /items etc.

Anyways I think you should post it in the feedback forum since it is clearly not a bug but a conscious choice by valve! Maybe they will change something !
