Hi, Im relatively new on the game and have figured now after some testing that performing light melees does apply a cooldown to your next shot to discourage weaving melee attacks in between gun damage.
Still though, I often find myself losing out on some kills or general poke as I constantly underestimate the sheer GTAV loading screen of time before a shot can fire after melee on Silver.
You can test how this feels easily;
• Swap to Silver in sandbox or firing range,
• Hold down fire button the entire time, and melee directly after a shot goes off.
Honestly, you will likely catch yourself melee'ing too early sometimes cause it's just That long.
Especially if you wish to stop pressing Q and compare it then to her normal fire rate...
I understand this is more than certainly tied to her low base fire rate, but I just feel as though this is going beyond hindering the ability to weave melee into a combo, and enters the realm of making her gameplay feel clunky and un-natural.
For some time maining her, I've genuinely been on and off deliberating whether this is intended and correct, or an oversight.
If there would be any shot to giving her a unique cooldown multiplier so the gun functions more similarily to the behaviour at ~1.3 fire rate, that would be pure quality of life. I seldom see any realistic situation where this sort of change could be meaningfully abused.
edit~ added mp4 file showing the firerate delays with no melee, melees at base and melees at 1.3rate (swift striker)
