In the current state of the game, Shiv generates a pitiful amount of rage by hitting NPCs. This leads to a problem of the game being a bit too hard to play while even or behind in souls. One way to improve the experience would be to grant the rage benefits of each skill by degrees, in a scale of 25 rage points for each skill. For example: if shiv has a quarter of his rage bar full, his knives get the rage benefits; if he has half a bar, his dash and knives get the benefits; if he has 75% of the bar, his knives, dash and bloodletting have the benefits, and finally, if he has his entire bar filled he gets a 25% damage amp, move speed bonus and all the other benefits.
